Sports schedules for 2020-21 are a couple of clicks away

is worth looking up. The website
has everything you want to know
about Glasgow Scotties. From
championships in every sport the
Scotties have won to the year they
accomplished the feat.
On the website, www.
scottiepride.com, is all of the sports
revised schedules for the 2020-21
school year. It also has information
on the Booster Club, facilities and
forms a person might need. Look it
up, it’s worth it. Flaten spent a lot of
time on this.
The volleyball schedule had
the Scotties opening in Choteau,
which they do every season. But
this year with COVID-19 there will
be no invitational tournaments.
That means Glasgow will lose three
competitive tournaments, Choteau,
Chinook and Dickinson. The Scotties
will open at Fairfield on Aug. 28 and
in Shelby the following night. The
first conference game will be on Sept.
3 against Wolf Point. Glasgow will
also play North Country, Glendive
Sidney, Plentywood and Fairview.
The match with Fairview will be the
Homecoming contest. Oct. 17 match

Fairview may be in District 2B
for the 2021-22 season, depending
on their enrollment. This would give
the Scotties better competition. It
would also give the district six teams
instead of the five teams.
The Glasgow junior varsity will
take on Lustre Christian on Sept. 15
at Lustre and the 29th on the Scotties
home court.
District tournament will be
in Malta, Oct. 30-31, divisional
at Conrad, Nov. 5-7, and state in
Bozeman, Nov. 12-14.
This year with COVID-19 the
home team will serve first and the
teams will not be switching benches
in between sets.
Rod Karst and his cross country
team will open in Billings with a
possibility of the race running in
staggered, wave or interval starts.
Only 25 runners will be allowed on
the starting line. This could make the
day a little longer, especially at the
bigger meets, like Billings.
Glasgow will host its cross
country meet on Sept. 19. Frazer
will host its 51st Annual meet on the
b24th. Glasgow will also be in meets
at Poplar, Havre, Culbertson, Miles
City, Harlem, and Wolf Point. The
Poplar and Wolf Point races will be at
the Wolf Point golf course. State meet
is Oct. 24 at Kalispell.
Glasgow football will open in
Shepherd on Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. The
first conference game is Sept. 4 against
Conrad. The Scotties other home
games are 25th against Harlem, Oct.
2 Colstrip, which in homecoming,
and the 16th hosting Wolf Point,
senior night. The road games are
Sept. 11 Baker, 18th Cut Bank, Oct.
9 Malta, and 23rd Fairfield. The first
round of the playoffs is set for Oct.
31.
This should be another good
year for Scotty athletics. The football
team has a lot of good returning
players that could make the playoffs.
The game with Fairfield could be for
the conference championship.
Glasgow’s volleyball team could
also challenge for the 2B title as the
team returns some good players and
the junior varsity had a good season
last year.
Cross Country also could have a
good season. The Scotties have a good
cord coming back on both squads.
I’m looking forward to talking to
coaches and hopefully some of the
athletes as well.
