Abstract

Only the objectively working managers and employees can bring success to the competing
organizations through innovative effort management techniques. Current fast social and
industrial environment has put additional strains on the manger’s role as effort savior. Effort-
reward imbalance model developed in 1990 stressed that perceived imbalance between high
effort and low rewards are negatively related to the organizational productivity thereby
enhancing stress and strain. This model intends to regulate the efforts for positive outcomes. If
the efforts are not controlled to respite the mangers or employees these may lead to enhanced
coronary or heart diseases due to increasing tensions and depressions due to the effort reward
imbalance. (Bosma )
