questions to: merripurdy@verizon.net

Materials: approximately (185 yds) Universal

Yarns Classic Shades Sequin Lite or any worsted
weight fiber

Stitch marker (optional)

Hook: 5 mm/Size H or recommended hook size

for yarn selection

Stitches Used:

bpdc = back post double crochet fpdc = front post double crochet

ch = chain sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet sl st = slip stitch

fdc = foundation dc

Gauge: Using size H hook: 4 stitches and 3 rows = 1 inch (Actual finished size will vary
depending on yarn choice and crochet tension)

Notes:

 Pattern directions are written using American crochet terminology

 Each mitt is worked in the round in one seamless piece from the base up
 Size can be adjusted by working in multiples of 4 sts
 The ch-2 at the beginning of a round does NOT count as a stitch and is for joining
purposes only

Pattern Directions: (Make 2)

Foundation Round 1 : Leaving a 6 inch starting tail, fdc 24, join with a sl st into first st
to form a ring (be careful not to twist your ch).

Suggestion: After completing round 1, slide your work over your wrist to make sure that the
base is large enough to go over your hand comfortably. Adjust your hook up or down by one size
and repeat process until you feel that it will properly accommodate your hand.

Round 2: Ch 2, fpdc around post of joining st and next 3 sts. Bpdc in next 4 sts. *[Fpdc
in next 4 sts, bpdc in next 4 sts.] Repeat from * to the end of the round. Join with a sl st.

Note: I like to hide my starting ch-2 by crocheting the last st of the round right around the
starting ch as well. This is a personal preference of mine and completely optional, but makes for a
very nice join and impossible to see the seam.

Rounds 3 – 4: Repeat Round 2.

Round 5: Ch 2, bpdc around post of joining st and next 3 sts. Fpdc in next 4 sts. *[Bpdc
in next 4 sts, fpdc in next 4 sts.] Repeat from * to the end of the round. Join with a sl st.

Rounds 6 – 7: Repeat Round 5.

Rounds 8 – 10: Repeat Round 2.

Rounds 11 – 13: Repeat Round 5.

Rounds 14 – 16: Repeat Round 2.

Round 17: Ch 2, bpdc around post of joining st and next 3 sts. Ch 4, skip next 4 sts
(thumb hole made), *[Bpdc in next 4 sts, fpdc in next 4 sts.] Repeat from * to the end of
the round. Join with a sl st.

Round 18: Ch 2, bpdc around post of joining st and next 3 sts. Dc in each of the next 4
ch sts. *[Bpdc in next 4 sts, fpdc in next 4 sts.] Repeat from * to the end of the round. Join
with a sl st.

Round 19: Ch 2, bpdc around post of joining st and next 3 sts. Fpdc in next 4 sts. *[Bpdc
in next 4 sts, fpdc in next 4 sts.] Repeat from * to the end of the round. Join with a sl st.

Rounds 20 – 22: Repeat Round 2.

Round 23 – 24: Ch 1, sc in first st and each of the remaining 23 sts of the round. Join
with a sl st. At the end of round 24, fasten off and weave in tail.

Finishing: Return to foundation round and use the starting tail to close the opening at
the start of the foundation dc. Weave in tail and enjoy your new mitts!

Optional Thumb and Wrist Trim: (original sample does not include thumb or wrist detail)

Attach your yarn in the center st on the underside of the thumbhole. Ch 2, dc in same st
as join. Place 9 more dc sts evenly around thumb opening. Complete a second round of
dc sts (if desired) or add a final round of 10 sc in each st around. Join with a sl st, fasten
off and weave in tail.

Wrist trim: Attach yarn anywhere along the bottom edge of the wrister and work 24 sc
sts evenly around. Sl st to join, fasten off and weave in tail.
