s. (a) The length of time, x, between the planting and germination of a type of pepper seed is
believed to have a normal distribution, with mean, p, and standard deviation, o. A random
sample of 49 such seeds was planted under identical conditions and the length of time
between planting and germination was measured. The following totals were recorded.
