Motivation :-
Motivation is the process that starts, guides, and maintains purposeful
behavior. This makes you act, whether you get a glass of water to
lessen your thirst or to read a book to gain knowledge.

Motivation involves the biological, emotional, social, and cognitive

forces that drive behavior. In everyday use, the term "motivation" is
often used to describe why a person does something. This is the force
behind human action.

Types of motivation :-

Extrinsic motivation:-
it is a type of motivation that arises from out side of the world. For
example trophies are given to players after a good performance so
these trophies are extrinsic motivation for that player.

Intrinsic motivation :-
Intrinsic motivation is a type of motivation that arises from inside of
people. For example players do practice a lot not for trophies but to
become a good player and this make him satisfied. So this is Intrinsic
motivation.

Self-determination Theory :-
This is a motivation theory that is mainly concern with the innate and
psychological tendencies of human being. People have free well to
make their own choices and doesn't influence from external
environment. It means that people have control over their behavior
and choices.

According to self determination theory people have three innate and

psychological needs that make them motivated.

Competence :- people need to be competent. They have to learn skills

and become master in those skills. When they become skillful they will
act to achieve goals.

Attachment :- people need to be connected with one another. This

attachment and connectedness will bring confidence in them for
actions.

Autonomy :- people need to be independent. Their motivation

shouldn't be extrinsic. They should have feelings of self control.

Achievement Theory :-
This is a motovational theory and it mainly focuses on power, affiliation
and achievements. This theory was proposed by McClelland and he
suggested that our motivation or our behavior is effected by these
three elements irrespective of ages, gender, culture etc.

Some people motivate for their work when they get some achievement
or get desired result in his work. Some people are motivated for work
because they have power. They think that we have power and we can
do anything. When we get a positive response from some one for our
work and struggles this is called affiliation. So there are people who get
motivated for struggles and their goals when people give them positive
response for their work.
