OPERATION CACTUS

Maldives is the smallest country by land and population in aisa. It is

siege to sea. It is one made up of collar island. Maldives had
independent in 1965. Abdul Gayoon was the president of Maldives in
1978. majority of Islamic are live in Maldives therefore it is supports
of Pakistan. The Maldives coup detat was attempted by the
Maldivian business Abdulla Luthufi ( lived in sri lanka) and the
people’s liberation organisation of tamil eelam (PLOTE ) in 1998 but
it had not successed .
Operation cactus was launched in 1998. Maldives is one made of
collar island , collar is the hard and chubna . therefore this operation
was called cactus operation.
The Maldives coup detat was attempted by the Maldivian business
Abdulla ( lived in sri lanka) and the people’s liberation organisation of
tamil eelam (PLOTE ) in 1998. PLOTE and Abdulla Luthufi had sieged .
the merecenaries quickly controlled of the capital , including the
major government building, port , airport, television and radio
station. But they failed to captured president of Maldives. then
Maldives gave help other country( sri lanka , USA , Pakistan , India).
Then indian PM Rajeev Gandhi had helped of this country. Then
indian troops landed at male international airport. Then indian
troops had saved . indian successed this operation and made good
image in the Asia . because some mercenaries died and others
saved. Really indian ‘s army are so good and hepful.
