SCIENTOLOGY
OFFERS YOU
by L Ron Hubbard
A Scientologist is one who understands life.
His technical skill is devoted to the resolution of
the problems of life.
There are two distinct divisions in Scientology.
The first is philosophic, the second is technical.
Under the philosophic heading one discovers the
ways of life and of evaluating or creating stan-
dards of livingness and beingness. By this know-
ingness alone, and without processing, it should
be understood clearly that a new way of life
could be created, or an old way of life could be
understood and better endured or altered. Under
the technical division we have a long series of
developed processes which, applied immediately
and directly to life or an organism thereof, pro-
duce changes at the will of the practitioner.
Scientology c o n c l u d e and demonstrates CCT-
tain truths. These truths might be considered to
be the highest common denominator of existence
itself.
One lives better with Scientology since life,
understood and controlled, becomes liveable.
The basic core of training is in Ron's Basic Books
The only richness there is is understanding.

Saint Hill Special Briefing Course
Graduates Use the Data
in Ron's Books
First Class VI
Graduate of 1975
GARY EPSTEIN graduated ASHO's Saint Hill Special Brief-
ing Course the first week of 1975 and is now interning as a Class
VII Auditor at ASHO.
For Gary, Scientology meant a long-awaited rescue from the
dwindling of his enthusiasm for life. Many years ago, even his
Fulbright fellowship (a state-sponsored grant to study in Europe)
didn't raise his flagging spirits. Unhappy, introverted, in need of
change, he returned to New York where a close friend, Class VI
Ira Chaleff, told him about Scientology. He immediately started
getting audited, and his life did start to change.
He has since become a very successful full time auditor. "I
was a total washout when I first started," he confesses. "But I
knew if I kept at it I would make it. Within the last few months
I've really begun to feel confident and familiar with the data. It
took reading the books in order on the Briefing Course, hearing
Ron explain all the little points on the tapes and of course a lot
of practice."
He is now training up to case supervise at the Advanced Saint Hill Special Briefing Course graduate GARY EPSTEIN
and MARILYN CARLSON re-discover the basics in L. Ron
Organization. "It all fell into place after I did the Briefing Hubbard's Dianetics book at ASHO.
Course," he says. "I know now I can go out and audit and get
results. I know we have a vital, workable philosophy with which
we can reach out into the community. To do that we need a few
thousand more Briefing Course graduates this year-people who
can really apply Scientology competently. Auditor
Re-discovers Basics
"The way I feel about it, if I could become a competent
auditor, anyone can! All it takes is doing it."

New Life Begins

MARILYN CARLSON, auditor at ASHO, is now updating
her training on the Dianetic Case Supervisor Course.
"I just re-read the basic books, Dianetics, the Modern Science

see how the basics are all in those books."

"Reading those books completely changed my life," he
recalls. "Finishing a cycle of action was one thing I never could
do. When I read Problems of Work I found out there was such a
thing! After those books I realized I could reach out and actually
do something in my life rather than wait for something to hap-
pen. I started creating a new life for myself."
He moved to Denver for some auditing then came to Los
Angeles for Academy training and then the Saint Hill Special
Briefing Course. Today he is working on OT II, has just finished
auditing his mother-in-law and will soon be auditing his wife up
the grades of release. During the day he enjoys doing landscape
designs with an architectural firm in Hollywood.
"The one thing I always wanted was to be happy," he says.
"Scientology has fulfilled that wish beyond my wildest dreams."
