Introduction

• This paper aims to understand the current situation of Jilong and analyze the existing problems in the Western
wedge area. The focus of this paper is to improve the local infrastructure construction. Plan for business, education
and tourism with local characteristics. The report will refer to the topography and climatic and human
characteristics of the area, so as to deepen the understanding of the planning and architectural design of the area

Vision
Analysis of the terrain of Keelung shows that the distance between contour lines on Keelung map is not too large,
which means that the local terrain is relatively flat. Such relatively flat terrain is conducive to infrastructure
construction and reduces the cost of transportation energy consumption. The steeper part is around Johnston Park,
which has some depressions. Such terrain conditions make it easier for jonestone park to accumulate water after a lot
of rainfall. As a landmark of this area, it is easy to cause a lot of inconvenience. You can see the scenery from the
seaside area of Keelung.
Context

Keelung City has a warm marine climate. Although Australia generally has four seasons, Keelung City has four
seasons like spring, green all year round, only dry summer and rainy winter. The annual average minimum
daytime temperature is 8.8 degrees (May to October), and the average maximum daytime temperature is 20.4
degrees (November to April).

The environment of Keelung is clean, the market is prosperous and the facilities are complete. Keelung
municipal government has decided to make a unified planning and development of more than 10 kilometers of
seaside, and further build the already perfect seaside into a world-class commercial, tourism, entertainment,
residential, office building, street and garden area.
Problem identification and risks

• The current situation of infrastructure management system in Keelung

mainly has the following problems.

• (1) The construction period of some infrastructure projects is too long,

which may lead to unreasonable planning
• (2) Low efficiency of government agencies
• (3) Urban traffic problems in Keelung
• (4) Many urban project elements may have problems of repeated
construction
Advantages
1. Keelung scenic has many spots: there is a beautiful beach in Keelung, and interesting and
lovely human shaped bollards on the bank. It is one of the tourist attractions. In addition,
there are tourist attractions such as wool Museum, Langsdale Cape, Jilang botanical garden,
etc. It is a great city for tourism.

2. And there are many kinds of animals and plants in Keelung, which is conducive to the
development of tourism. With the continuous development of society, people's demand in life,
culture and spirit is also higher and higher. Tourism has become a kind of leisure, relaxation
and spiritual tension of life style. The most important factor for a city to attract tourists
usually because of its own cultural background and the overall environment of the city. As an
important factor affecting the urban environment, development of urban tourism is closely
linked to the its construction integrity.
Disadvantages

1. The potential problem of flood zones. Although there is no serious flood loss event in the
recent history of the region, but the location requires the potential future floods still need
to be considered.

2. Keelung now covers an area of 1240km2, with a population of only 20000 at the beginning,
because the developed population of wool industry and industry has gradually increased to
100000. Today, with a population of about 200000, it is the second largest city in Victoria
after Melbourne. And more and more people will put pressure on local environmental
resources.
Improvement options

• (1) The construction of urban road traffic infrastructure should be strengthen,

such as providing free bicycles for tourists, which can be rented as long as a
deposit is provided

• (2) Exchange the construction or re-plan the urban pipe network (for example,
to ensure that there is not much rainwater in the park, and regularly check the
planned urban drainage transformation project)

• (3) Accelerate the construction of sewage and waste treatment facilities

• (4) Strengthening the ecological garden construct

• (5) Considering the local seasonal variation, try to put forward the facility supply
standard combining rigidity, elasticity and temporary demand. Identify
differences in facilities arrangement, tour line organization and other aspects
with the whole tour line elements of tourists' tour course

Summary
• Recommendations in this scope are to ensure that Australia retains its coastal
identity and sense of place, while making more efficient use of space and using
its unique cultural identity to meet the growing needs of permanent residents
and visitors. A key to providing Keelung city center is to improve the
construction of urban transportation. As a diverse city, Keelung will require high
standards of urban amenities in the public domain for its growing population
and increasing number of visitors, hence the need for landscaping and attractive
urban design .
