SENIOR HIGH DAYS 2020

Theme:​ CONVERGE: Connecting a Veracious & Ever-Ready Generation of E-Learners


July 29-31, 2020

QUARANSING! ​(Vocal Solo)

Part of the students’ holistic development is showcasing and enhancing their talents. As we
move towards the direction of the new normal in education, the holistic development of the
students should also lean towards the same direction. This is why different talent competitions
such as this activity (Quaransinger) will be conducted during the Senior High School Days. This
will be done using the school’s Facebook page due to this platform being one of the most easily
accessible social media among the students; and in consideration of the health and safety
protocols of the school and the authorities.

GUIDELINES
1. Each competing teams must have one (1) representative for the Vocal Solo competition.
2. All contestants must submit the video of their whole performance to
20170141@spsps.edu.ph​ on or before ​July 28, 2020 (5PM) ​with a file name “VS.
Legion’s Name.” The video should only contain the participant’s performance
accompanied by music but other than that, editing is not allowed. Videos will be
streamed on the school’s Facebook page after the opening program on July 29.
3. The contestants ​must sing any OPM song​ and must deliver one full piece of the song.
The song may either be in English or Filipino.
4. In doing the activity, it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to follow the health and safety
protocols especially when shooting outside of their respective homes and when within the
presence of a group of people. Violation of this provision will automatically result in
disqualification of the team.
5. The performance must not exceed five (5) minutes. An excess from the allocated time
performance means deduction of two (2) points from the total score.
6. Bona fide members of the Saint Paul Chorale or any singing group recognized by the
school are ​strictly not allowed​ to join in the competition.
7. Judging shall be based on the criteria below:
VOICE QUALITY 40%
INTERPRETATION & DICTION 30%
PERFORMANCE/DELIVERY 20%
AUDIENCE APPEAL 10%
TOTAL 100

The number of reactions will comprise the points for the audience appeal. Only the
reactions clicked from the start until the end of each performance will be counted. Reactions will
be monitored closely by the committee members.
Points based on reaction:

​FAMILY DANCE CRAZE

The value of family bonding has always been important for the institution. Participating in
the said event makes time for different families to bond and enjoy. The students together with
their families also get to showcase their talent in dancing. The entries for this activity will be sent
through email in consideration of the health and safety protocols of the school and the
authorities.

GUIDELINES
1. Each team shall be composed of 10 families ​wearing a costume with the shade of the
team’s color​. Each family should be composed of the father, mother, son, and/or
daughter. If any of the parents is unavailable, the grandfather or grandmother or any other
family member can fill in the position. In doing the activity, it is HIGHLY
ENCOURAGED to follow the health and safety protocols especially when shooting
outside of their respective homes and when within the presence of a group of people.
Violation of this provision will automatically result in disqualification of the team.
2. Each competing team must use one song ONLY for this competition. The videos of the
10 families per team should be compiled into 1 video only.
3. Each entry shall not be more than five (5) minutes​. A minute of excess or a fraction
thereof over the allowed time shall mean ​5 points deduction​ from the overall score.
4. The use of pyrotechnics and other flammable materials, live animals, 3 level human
pyramids, offensive and immoral costumes and actions are strictly prohibited and shall
disqualify the team.
5. All entries for this activity will be uploaded on the website. All videos of each team must
be submitted on or before ​July 28, 2020 to ​20170141@spsps.edu.ph with the file name
“FDC.Legion’s Name Fam1” or “FDC.Legion’s Name Fam2”, so on and so forth.
6. Bona fide members of the Saint Paul Dance Academy are ​allowed to join in the
competition but only a limit of two (2) participants for this said event.
7. Judging shall be based on the criteria below:
Choreography 30%
Mastery and synchronization 30%
Costume and other effects 20%
Stage presence 10%
Audience appeal 10%
Total 100%
The number of visitors who viewed and
liked each video on the website will comprise the audience appeal.

​QUARANSCENES

The society’s current situation has awakened the creativity of the people. Paulinians are
not exempted from this. This activity will be the medium of sharing the creative ideas our
students have by capturing and compiling the skills and talents they have acquired and/or
discovered during the quarantine. The entries for this activity will be sent through email in
consideration of the health and safety protocols of the school and the authorities.

GUIDELINES
1. Each competing team shall submit three (3) entries which could be in the form of
still pictures and/or moving images or gif. In doing the activity, it is HIGHLY
ENCOURAGED to follow the health and safety protocols especially when
shooting outside of their respective homes and when within the presence of a
group of people. Violation of this provision will automatically result in
disqualification of the team.
2. The subject of the images should be the things they have learned during
quarantine but captured in style. For example, a student might have learned how
to cook during the quarantine. An image of the student cooking or preparing to
cook something might be a good idea. Images should be captured and presented in
the most creative way possible, thus editing of still pictures and/or moving
pictures to enhance its quality and presentation is ALLOWED.
3. The participant should be present in the picture and not just the activities done.
4. You may send your entries through email (​20180892@spsps.edu.ph​ ) on or before
July 29, 2020 (12nn). ​Together with the picture, send a short explanation of the
picture, maximum of 3 sentences. Write in the subject field “SHS
DAYS-QUARANSCENES-​HOUSE”​ .
5. All entries per house will be posted on the website.
6. Judging shall be based on the following criteria. It will also be based on the
number of views and likes on the website.

Adherence/Appropriateness to the Theme- 30%
Uniqueness of Concept- 25%
Visual Design- 25%
Creativity- 10%
Overall Artistic Impression- 10%
TOTAL- 100%

60% of the total points will come from the judges and the remaining 40%
will come from the number of views and likes on the website.
The participating teams in the competitions shall be awarded with the appropriate
points in accordance with the committee guidelines.
The committee reserves the right to disqualify a contestant who will not adhere to the
rules agreed upon prior to the competition.

​COOLTURE

Nowadays, people think out of the box to get to have a feel of travelling or experience
things they used to do or would want to do while making sure to follow the protocols in the new
normal. This activity can be an avenue where Paulinians can achieve these. Through this event,
they will have a way to promote and show appreciation of one’s town and culture at the same
time, let their viewers experience what their roots have to offer. The entries for this activity will
be sent through email in consideration of the health and safety protocols of the school and the
authorities.

GUIDELINES
1. Each competing team shall submit one (1) entry. Each entry can have 5-10
participants who would collaborate with each other to do the video. It is NOT
necessary for the participants to show their faces in the video or for them to do a
video per person.
2. The content of the video/slideshow shall be about promoting local culture. For
example, a team can promote the delicacies of a town/s through a mukbang
featuring the delicacies of a specific town or towns. Tourist spots or notable spots
in some areas where visiting other places is already allowed can also be featured.

when within the presence of a group of people. Violation of this provision will
automatically result in disqualification of the team.
3. Videos must be taken indoors as much as possible but if going outdoor shooting
will be considered, please refer back to guideline number 2.
4. Each video shall not exceed 3 minutes.
5. You may send your entries through email. (​20180892@spsps.edu.ph ) on or
before ​July 29, 2020 (3PM). Write in the subject field “SHS
DAYS-COOLTURE-​HOUSE​.” All videos will be uploaded on the website.
6. Judging shall be based on the following criteria and on the number of views and
likes on the website.

Creativity (creative expression of the theme) 25%
Originality and Overall Impression 20%
Technical Organization (visual and sound 25%
elements)
TOTAL 100%

60% of the total points will come from the judges and the remaining 40%
will come from the number of shares and reactions on Facebook.
