Everywhere we went, there were armies of white-clothed tourist police and undercover
policemen armed with assorted automatic weapons. Yep, they have an entire ARMY of men
dedicated to our safety and well-being.

The second time we visited Egypt, our family friends told us that the traffic in Cairo is
something…rather unique. I thought “nah, it can’t be that chaotic” but I was wrong. It is
chaotic especially because I come from a city that is population wise 82 times smaller than
Cairo. 82 freaking times!!! You can only imagine how it all looked in my eyes. The
honking, cursing and arguing in traffic is something that Serbians and Egyptians share but
Serbians like to sleep on the car horn while Egyptians prefer to argue and curse at each

As you may have guessed, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek. But for a developing country in
Africa and the Middle East, you might be surprised if you come to Egypt without any prior
knowledge.
For a country that has been around for at least the last 5,000 years, this should not come as
