• Built an impulse excitation apparatus and implemented a process for testing the Young’s modulus of metal samples
resulting in new company-wide guidelines and technique for analysis
• Performed daily metallurgical examinations of specimens under an optical microscope cross-referencing results
with metal classifications and standards in order to accurately determine material quality
• Introduced and presented new material property standards to the Engineering Department, Chief Metallurgist, and

2017-2018 UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, Optical Drug Delivery Ring Ann Arbor, MI
• Collaborated with a team of four Materials Science and Engineering students to create a new treatment method for
glaucoma by designing a biodegradable optical drug delivery ring exploring alternatives to surgery
• Evaluated material performance based on degradation kinetics, mechanical properties, and FDA requirements to
progress towards a prototype design
• Co-authored reports and presented research to project sponsors and peers on problem background, customer
needs, market structure, and materials selection to determine product feasibility
• Designed all artistic representations and visual diagrams of prototype to ease audience interpretation
