Acknowledgments

This book is the result of about 20 years of experience as a teacher trainer and 25
years of experience as a teacher. Since then the approach to teaching has been
changed gradually from being teacher centered to more student centered. This
book is based on the courses I have taught and developed over the past 20 years
together with many colleagues, both at my own university and in the Division of
Chemistry Education of EuChemS and the Committee on Chemistry Education of In-
ternational Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. Without their input and discus-
sion this book would not have been possible.
