EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Modular Distance Learning is the learning modality the Division of Marinduque
preferred to use to continue the education of learners during this time of Pandemic. It was chosen
after the thorough study and taking into consideration the result revealed by the survey in the
Learner Enrolment and Survey Form (LESF).

Using the Modules, the pupils are expected to work independently on the lessons or at
least with minimal assistance. To test its efficacy as well as the lapses of using it, a Dry Run was
set, for us to prove that this modules are worth using in delivering knowledge to our pupils. At
the end of the five day Dry Run, it is expected that we can adapt or alter strategies to make it
more effective.

As expected, Mogpog Central School laid a plan base on the instruction given by the
Department. Orientation of teachers, parents and other persons involved on how to conduct the
Dry Run of using the Modules was done. Different Working Committees were formed, linkages
were activated particularly the Local Government Units. After organizing the focal persons, we
proceeded to the procurement and production of materials using the school’s Maintenance and
Other Operating Expenses (MOOE). Creating a TEAM for every task made our work easier.
Safety in all the aspects of conducting the Dry Run is our foremost concern, taking into
consideration all the precautions given by the Department of Health and the IATF. The equal
distribution of job to be done among the teachers, and the systematic arrangement of task
contributed to the success of the activity. The delivery of materials to monitoring and the
retrieval of modules were hassle free and all systems go. Barangay Officials and knowledge
Sources played a vital role in the success of the Dry Run.

In spite of all the restrictions to carry on, we were able to achieve what we were
expected. The result gave us a clear vision on how to go along in the days to come and in what
particular aspect of work are going to focus more to insure its success. We found out that more
parents cannot comply with the Class Home Schedule to assist their children in the lessons
because they need to earn a living for the family, not to mention those who do not have the
capacity to teach their children because they themselves are illiterate.

Wrapping it up, Modular Distance Learning can be an effective medium of teaching our
pupils, but we need to be on guard in the following aspects: close monitoring of learners,
systematic and reliable way of assessment of our pupils and safety of all the persons concerned.
School is important, but education can happen anytime, anywhere, if we will take it seriously.
Let our knowledge continue to grow whatever the situation is.
