Organizational Scan

Since September’10: Materials Engineer (ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited)

The ISGEC Group has an annual turnover of over Rs 2000 crore (USD 400 million) across five business
units, ISGEC (Pressure Equipment), ISGEC (Machine Building -Presses), ISGEC (Iron Casting), ISGEC
Heavy Engineering Limited (Boilers, EPC & Sugar Machinery), U.P. Steels (Steel Castings & Ingots),
Projects from Power Plants, Oil & gas industries, Bio gas plants, Chemical Plants, Process plants are taken
care. Nearly 35 Boilers including CFBC, AFBC, TG, WHRB are executed in a year Globally. CFBC boilers,
Package Boilers (Oil Fired) & EPC are manufactured under license from FOSTER WHEELER, USA.

Key Responsibilities:-

 Project Based Buying including raw material, fabrication & bought-out items.
 Coordination with manufacturing units, Design, Proposal & Project Departments.
 Evaluating & negotiating with venders for price & various other terms & conditions, ensuring
adherence to quality standards for all incoming materials\ parts.
 Identifying and developing Global vendor source for achieving cost effective purchases of
components of different technology & raw material along with reduction in delivery time
 Devising & executing material cost reduction mechanisms for curtailing transportation/
distribution & storage expenses
 Co-ordination with expeditors posted at various locations in India for expediting & monitoring
Co-ordination with accounts department to ensure timely payment to the Vendor
 Planning deliveries as per Project Schedule & Lead time
 Liasioning with various agencies to resolve techno-commercial issues.
 Monitoring Market trends based on raw material Prices and calculating Price Variation of Fabrication
items and equipments.
 Monitoring material flow as per site requirements & monthly revenue plan.
 Coordination with project site for smooth and sequential supply of the material according to the
CLP(Construction linked Plan)
 Vendor Development for different types of items as per the requirement.
 Logistics Planning

 Carrying out advance planning for resource mobilization, manpower deployment and rendering
technical support, ensuring the execution of projects within time, cost & budgetary parameters.
