All related documents, such as delivery notes, country of origin, bill of landing, test certificates, etc,, shall be available along with materials when delivered to site. 7.5, Materials will then be reconciled with the mill certificates, where applicable and any uncertified/non-compliant materials will be removed into quarantine. 7.6. Material shall be stored appropriately or placed on shelving units within the warehouse area 17.7. Care shall be taken to prevent the ingress of dirt or foreign objects into materials. 7.8, Items requiring preservation and maintenance shall be subject to the requirements of. the Preservation and Preventative Maintenance Procedure. 7.8. Material deliveries to the site shall be in such intervals to ensure uninterrupted progress of work. Materials shall be stored to permit easy access for inspection and identification. Sheet metal shall be kept off ground, using pallet, platform or other supports. Metal sheets packaged materials shall be protected from corrosion and deterioration Material shall not be rest on pipes in a manner that might cause distortion or damage to member or other pipes. Storage area must be well ventilated. Before commencing any construction works, pre-inspection by PM/CM will be carried out on all materials before leaving storage area, Prior to the commencement of any construction works, areas and ‘access will be inspected by the construction team to ensure that they are ina suitable condition before construction, A close coordination with other trades will be carried out on site prior ‘to commencement of the work. (Daily coordination meeting with construction Engineers). Work shop to be furnished and to be inspected according clear layout sketch, Preliminary takes off for ordering sheet metal & schedule for delivery. Construction Engineer should reflect all (RFI's) with approved shop drawings for construction. ‘Supervisor will instruct the tradesmen regarding the execution of the work, and will distribute all necessary approved construction drawings of the latest revision. The supervisor will also check that tools and equipments available are in compliance with the contract requirements. 9.3Installation Procedures: 9.3.1 General Ductwork routing shall strictly match ceiling module lines so as to maintain maximum flexibility for any future relocation of lighting fixtures or other services. Ductwork supports unless otherwise indicated will be installed to provide a minimum spacing of 15mm at least between finished covering and adjacent work, and a 100mm at least clearance from suspended ceiling or as(per shop drawing). In-line equipment shall be independently supported from main structure and not block work walls or sub-structure. Supports or hangers will be placed within a 300mm of any 45°-90* bends or elbows. Screwed drop will have thread adjustment in either direction after leveling of ductwork and plenum boxes. Duct will be supported within 300mm of mating flanges or joints. The consultant randomly should be invited to check duct sheet ‘gauges at the duct work shop prior to fabrication AAs indicated on relevant approved construction drawings where more than one duct can be supported on one hanger, the size of the hanger will be assessed based on the sum of their maximum weights. Supervision is essential to ensure that there are no dents, distortion or buckling of duct during installation. Damaged sheet metal work will be rejected. An inspection request shall be submitted to inspect work before applying the insulation and upon PM/CM permission the duct work shall be insulated. Ducting to be installed allowing sufficient space for expansion / contraction and thermal insulation for joints and provide approved flame proof febric flexible duct connection at building expansion joint fans, A.H.U and FCU connection. Clean both flange faces to be joined. * Add gasket jointing material to flanges in order to be mated. * Using only undamaged rust free bolts, nuts washers to join mating flanges to gather and tighten bolts. * Clean any excess jointing material from flanges. Continuous checks for horizontal and vertical alignment of ductwork and compliance with approved shop drawings and specification requirements Ensure that horizontal ductwork is adequately supported at equal distances in accordance with the construction drawings, and all brackets supported to the vertical face of the ribbed beams of the structure. Silencers, fire dampers, balancing dampers & other plant items will be installed as per approved shop drawings, and will be supported adequately. Supervisor is to check before the end of the working day by recording in his diary (as necessary) that: = The correct type of supports are installed, "Supports are adequately supporting the ductwork and associated plant equipment. + Provide Access doors location & sizes in duct. © Testholes shall be provided, marked and plugged in order to be ready for commissioning and control of equipments. Ensure horizontal ductwork is adequately supported at equal distances in accordance with Construction Drawings with all brackets fixed to the vertical face of ribbed beams of structure. Care will be taken during setting out, that ductwork runs between ceiling module lines 50 as to maintain maximum flexibility for any future relocation of lighting fixtures or other services. Ductwork supports shall be as per approved shop drawing, Ducts will be supported according to duct construction detailed drawings ‘As indicated on relevant approved construction drawings where more than one duct can be supported on one hanger ~ the size of the hanger will be assessed on the sum of the maximum widths. Where accessible the coating may be washed down periodically to remove any accumulation of materials with water and a mild detergent. If coating becomes damaged clean surface and re-apply coating. © After completion of the coating process and proper drying of the same, the open ends of the ducts to be sealed with durable plastic sheeting to prevent the ingress of sand, dirt, water, or other contaminants. ° Finally, general cleaning shall be made and Inspection Request for Duct Installation shall be raised for approval by Engineer. 9.5 Duct Fabrication 9.5.1 Fabricate ducts, elbows, transitions, offsets and branchconnections from galvanized sheet metal steel in accordance with Heating & Ventilating Association (HVCA) Specification for Sheet Metal Ductwork DW/144 - Low, Medium and HighPressure/Velocity Air System 1998, and SMACNA. 9.5.2 Comply with the specifications for metal thickness, sizes reinforcing types and intervals, tie rod application and joint types and intervals. 9.5.3 Apply approved duct sealant to all external corners / duct joints and check to ensure joints are sound and air-tight. 9.5.4 Ensure cleats are installed properly. 9.5.5 Duct fabrication to be as per approved duct fabricator and as per SMACNA regulations 9.6 Fire Rated Duct © 2Hrs fire resisting ductwork shall be installed where applicable in approved shop drawing ‘+ Apply Fire rated resistive enclosures for smoke & pressuirzation systems where ductwork is located outside fire rated shaft Doe.Type.: MS-HV 01 METHOD OF STATEMENT Issue No.: 02 HASSAN ALLAM qua INSTALLATION OF HVAC | 1##¢: HVAC DUCTWORK Specs : 23 31 00,23 33 00 pan 23 35 00,23 37 00, 23 09 oo © Fire rated ducts shall be constructed & protected to ensure maintaining stablitiy & Insulation with full supporting angles * Fire stopping material shall seal the clearances between fire resist duct & wall to ensure integrity of the system * Fire resistant duct shall be connected to fans by fire rated flexible connectors made of glass fabric coated with aproper flame retardent «All drop rods & exposed bearers shall be insulated in accordance to munfacturer's instructions 9.7 Air Outlet Installation. (Grilles, Diffusers & Louvers Fixing.) 9.7.1 Arrange the delivery to site of grilles & diffusers and store in safe area without any damages. 9.7.2 Bottom of duct and height of the grilles and diffusers shall be determined from the reference mark/level made my surveyor. 9.7.3 Scaffolding / ladder shall be positioned to the location of the duct where the installation of grilles and diffusers in a safe manner. 9.7.4 Diffusers are manually lift and fixed to plenum as per manufacturer recommendation. 9.7.5 The supply & return diffuser Plenum boxes & round CD's shall be connected by using approved flexible round duct. 9.7.6 Grilles & exhaust louvers are lift and fixed to wall and sealants are applied as per manufacturer recommendation. 8.7.7 All of above materials shall be handled with care against the scratches, 9.7.8, Finally installation will be inspected by the QC/QA Engineer 10.0 Testing © Leakage Tests:- Doe.Type.: MS-HV 01 METHOD OF STATEMENT Issue No.: 02 HASSAN ALLAM : : INSTALLATION OF Hvac [Te HVAC DUCTWORK Specs : 23 31 00.23 33 00 Dae ana 23.35 00 ,23 37 00, 23 09 00 ~ We shall follow SMACNA & ASHRAE standards which states there is no need to verify leakage control by field testing when adequate methods of assembly and sealing are used, ~ Leakage tests are an added expense in system installation, ~ Itisnot recommended that duct systems constructed to 3" (750 Pa) wg class or lower be tested because this is generally not cost effective. ~ For duct systems constructed to 4" (1000 Pa) wg class and higher, the designer must determine if any justification for testing exists. if it does, the contract documents must clearly designate the portions of the systems to be tested and the appropriate test methods.
