R: A good citizen is one who has empathy, who is respectful,
supportive, friendly, who is fair, who complies with the rules, who helps
others, without expecting anything in return.
I consider that yes.
2-Busque 1 ejemplo de un(a) buen(a) ciudadano(a). descríbelo en el
cuaderno de inglés (4 líneas).
R:Environmental lawyers, these are a clear example of a good citizen,
they share their empathy with the environment, they care about it, they
try to make people understand the importance of caring for the
environment, they are always present, they comply with the rules, they
are fair, among other qualities, they are sensitive and humble people,
who want good for society and the planet.
3-Realiza las actividades 1 y 2 de la pág. 48 y 4 y 5 de la pág. 49 del
libro guía.
R: 1-Look at the pictures and the quotes. Discuss in pairs.
What do you know about these people?
I only recognize one, which is Mother Teresa, because I know of her
history as a nun and she was one of the greatest influences in this
area, the other two I am unaware of.
Do you think they were good citizens?
Yes.
What do you think the quotes mean?
These are motivating and give you a sense that change is in you, that
the sun depends on you to be a good city.
2- Study the poster and match the verbs with the gaps. Then complete
the poster with two more ideas.

R4: And the first poster related to page 48, we can find that of caring
for your environment, being a good neighbor, and being kind.
In poster number 2 it is related even more, because it talks about the
empathy that we should have with other people, about why it is
important to learn about other people's beliefs or religions, what is
important to read, since this gives you knowledge.
5. Read the essays again and answer the questions.
a. Which three things does James suggest you can do to look after
your environment?
R: Pick up the garbage, take care of the environment, recycle.
b. What does James tell us to do when we see our neighbours?
R: Smile and be nice.
c. How can we help elderly neighbours?
R: Help in their homes and what to do.
d. Why does Haley say we need to read the newspaper?
R: To learn about the world.
e. How canwe help people who are affected by earthquakes?
R: We can raise money by selling cakes, cookies, or even your own
possessions that you no longer need.
f. Why does she say it is important to be a good citizen?
R: Because it makes us feel better about ourselves.

4. Discute con el equipo de trabajo acerca del poster de “cómo ser un

buen ciudadano” ¿cuáles de las 8 ideas he hecho? doy un ejemplo de
cómo y cuándo fui un buen ciudadano.
R: I respect and learn about the beliefs or religions of others, I learn
from the world around me, I take care of the environment, I have a lot
of empathy, it is normally my daily day.
