1. The components of food that help our body to function
properly and grow strong and healthy are called nutrients.
The five components are:-
(i)Carbohydrates
(ii)Fats
(iii)Proteins
(iv)Vitamins
(v)Minerals
2.Food pyramid is a pyramid shaped structure which show
the component of food to be eaten everyday in a balanced
way.It is also called diet pyramid.In the pyramid fruit and
vegetables from a largest part at the base and junk food
from smallest part at the top.Following the pyramid will
make our diet balanced and keep us fit and healthy.
3.The importance of eating a balanced diet are:-
i. Keep us fit and healthy.
ii. Helps to fight with infection and disease.
iii. Helps in better concentration and performance level
well.
iv. Together with exercise helps in maintaining a healthy
body weight.
v. Reduces the chances of developing a condition called
obesity.
4.Diabetes is defined as the condition where the body fails
to utilize the sugar present in our blood.
The symptoms of diabetes are:-
i. Increase thirst
ii. Increase hungriness
iii. Increase urination.
5.Food adulteration is defined as the action of making food
and drink impure and unsafe by adding unwanted
substances to it.It also decreases the quality of food and
also lower it high nutritional content.
The two examples of adulterated food are:-
i. Milk is commonly found adulterated with water.
ii. Honey is adulterated with water and sugar to increase
quantity.
