Western/European culture and arts are full of wonderful works of creation by the most well-known artists in this

particular field. Culture and arts that made history all over the world. Their works are made more on three-dimensional,
nature, and almost of them are in a landscape form. Western culture is all about their traditions. Beliefs that inspired
them to make artworks. Religion is the best thing to describe their inspiration. Feelings are also put on it. Their works
are precisely made with dedication because it is really a world-class art that made by the most talented ones.

Ten of the most famous western artists are Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso,
Rembrandt Van Rijn, Claude Monet, Salvador Dali, Paul Cezanne, Francisco Goya, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. This artists
had many hidden stories and treasures about their masterpiece artworks. Artworks that exposed or spread their culture
to the world.

Leonardo da Vinci was a writer, mathematician, inventor and an artist. He was born in Italy. One of his famous
artwork was a portrait called “Mona Lisa”. Mona Lisa is the best well known art in the world. The portrait made
revolutionary techniques that time. The portraits back in time was more stiff and more on two dimensional figure.
Leonardo da Vinci is the first to paint a portrait in three dimensional and more likely with great background techniques.

Michelangelo made a great influence on the development of western art. He was a sculptor, painter, poet and
an architect. He was born on March 6 ,1475. He was the one who curved the artwork best known as Pieta. The word
“pieta” means “mercy”. The sculpture represent the biblical scene in which the Blessed Virgin Mary holds Jesus in her
arms.

Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter and the most famous one. Post-impressionist painters
are painters who paint in a more psychological team and emotions. This artist use symbols, styles and bold colors to
paint. Van Gogh suffered and commit suicide but his arts brought meanings. He created over 2100 artworks in total. He
made “The Starry Night” which is an oil on a canvas. It is painted on June 1889.

Cubism was made by lines, shapes and variation of colors. This art movement was pioneered by Pablo Picasso
and many more influential artists. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculpture, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre
designer that was designated on France. Cubism is a revolutionary art movement highly influence in European field. It is
a new approach in representing reality.

Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch draughtsman, painter and printmaker. He was born on 15 th of July 1606 in the
Netherlands. He is innovative and prolific master in 3 media. He is also considered one of the greatest visual artist in the
history of art. Almost 90 pieces of portraits are self-portrait of himself. He is known by having so many versions of self-
portrait specifically portrait of him.

Claude Monet was a French painter and the founder of French Impressionist painting. Impressionism is an art
movement characterized by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes. He was born on 14th of November 1840 in
France. He died on 5th of December 1926. He is more on painting nature especially plein air landscape. Some of his
artworks are “Poppies”(1873), “The Water Lily Pond”(1899), “Women in the Garden”(1866), and many more.

Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist artist. He received formal education in fine arts. Surrealism became the
most influential art movement in 20th century. It expresses multiple levels of reality. Some of his famous artworks are
“Persistence of Memory”, “Metamorphosis of Narcissus” and “Apparition”. Dali had been inspired by Picasso to practice
his own interpretation of cubism and he begin to utilize surrealist concepts in his paintings.

Same as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne is a post-impressionist painter. He was born on 19th January 1839 in
France end died on 22nd October 1906. He is the creator of the second most expensive painting ever sold. He is
considered by many as the inventor of modern expressionism. Picasso and Matissse remarked that Cezanne “Is the
Father of us all”. Cezanne's death was caused due to his dedication for his work.

Francisco Goya was Spanish romantic painter and printmaker. Goya holds a unique place in art as one of the last
Old Master and the first of modern painters. He also painted rococo-style tapestry cartoons. Goya had an undiagnosed
illness that left him completely deaf. He became more paranoid because of his illness. Some of his paintings are the
“Parasol”(1777), “Witches! Sabbath”(1798) and many more.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a leading painter of impressionist style. Renoir began his artistic career as a porcelain
painter. He also tried to sculpt. He is best known for bustling Parisian modernity through his paintings. His eyes for
beauty leads him the movement's most popular practitioners. “The Umbrellas”(1886) and “Girls at the Piano”(1892) are
some of his artworks.

This artists and their artworks are such remarkable and considered best in the history of art. It is also inspiring
because they made a great change for their culture and arts.
