IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USERS OF CONGO FAMILY HARDWARE

Please note that there have been some changes of basic setups in Cobalt v7.x.x that may affect your
system, mainly in the area of display monitors.

HARDWARE

Cobalt v7.x.x uses a minimum display resolution of 1280x1024. On Congo console hardware, we
recommend that you keep the resolution to 1280x1024 maximum.

Since display #1 on Congo consoles is slower, we recommend keeping the Direct Select dock on another
display to keep system performance high.

SOFTWARE

Cobalt software will be installed in a new folder and as a completely parallel installation. This means that
the existing Congo software installation and plays folder will not be touched and can still be accessed
and used if needed. When you install Cobalt the first time, the contents of the Plays folder will be
COPIED into the Cobalt Plays folder, so all the existing show files will be available in Cobalt immediately.
If you make a show file in Cobalt v7.0.0 - 7.1.1, you can also open it in Congo v6.4.1 if needed by saving
that file to USB and then switching to Congo and opening the file from that USB stick.

Switching your Congo family console from Congo software to Cobalt software:

During this time of transition, it may be that you need to return to Congo software use on your console
(guest users who would like to use the older version, touring shows, etc.)

• Press and hold F1 on an external keyboard as soon as the system desktop (wallpaper) appears to
start using the Congo software installation (we recommend you update to the last Congo
version – v6.4.1 software – for show file compatibility.) From this point, the system will start as
Congo.
• Press and hold F2 on an external keyboard as soon as the system desktop (wallpaper) appears to
start using the Cobalt software installation. From this point, the system will start as Cobalt.
• You can switch between Congo and Cobalt as you need to – the two installations will not
interfere with each other.

Please note, with the release of Cobalt version 7.2.0, there is

no longer backward showfile compatibility with Congo v6.4.1.
