PRITIKA AUTO INDUSTRIES

Pritika Auto Industries is a renowned name in the Tractor and Automotive Industry providing excellence
in the field of precision machined components out of casting, forging and bar stocks. Founded in 1974 by
R.S. Nibber is today a quality driven organization popularly known as “PRITIKA Group of Industries” is a
trusted name in its field.

Among the various products being manufactured by the Pritika Auto Industries, one product which
enjoys the highest amount of trust and quality among its clients is the CRANK CASE. Pritika Auto
Industries has its manufacturing units of Crank Cast units in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. These two
manufacturing plants results contribute over 65% to the total revenue.

In an internal combustion engine of a reciprocating type, the crank case is the housing for the crank
shaft. A Crank Case is made up of the cast iron. Besides protecting the crankshaft and connecting rods
from foreign objects, the crank case also has other functions like providing a rigid structure to the
engine for transmission and keeping the motor oil contained. The crank cases manufactured here are
supplied to the Mahindra tractors.

Pritika Auto Industries has 10 manufacturing units all around the country dedicated to the
manufacturing of Crank Cases with a total production capacity of 230 lakhs units. However, in the light
of an increase demand in the Indian Automobile Industry and various initiatives taken by the Indian
Government (in terms of various relaxations in terms of the government policies and regulations) to
promote the manufacturing sector, Pritika Automobiles decided to further expand their business by
setting up more manufacturing units in different regions across India to increase the current production
capacity by at least 10%. The company wants the new manufacturing plant to be set up by the end of
FY18. After a lot of research on the market conditions, the company narrowed down their choices for
the manufacturing units to Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. The company however, now has to
consider various factors contributing to the set up of the manufacturing unit in one of the above
mentioned states by taking into account various economic conditions, market demand, transportation
costs etc. so as to minimize the cost of setting up of a manufacturing plant and maintaining an overall
satisfactory functionality of the plant at the same time.
