Admission Policy/Criteria for Associate Degree and BS (4-Year) Programmes
Morning and Replica programme
1. All genders having domicile of Punjab are eligible for admission.
2. The maximum age limit for the eligibility is 20 years. However the age will be relaxed upto 4 year by the Competent Authority.
3. The candidates with at least 45% marks in FA/FSc/ICom/ICS and A Level examination are eligible to apply for all programs except Pharm-D, DPT, Medical
Health Professional Programmes Medical Lab Technology (MLT), Radiography & Imaging Technology (RIT), Operation Theater Technology (OTT), Orthotics and
Prosthetics and BS Electrical Engineering where at least, 60% marks are required as per the requirement of the respective councils.
4. For BSc Electrical/ Mechanical /Civil /Chemical Engineering Technology programs, BSCS, BSIT and BSSE programmes at least, 50% marks are required
as per the requirement of the respective councils.
5. Admission will be granted strictly on merit i.e. on the basis of the marks obtained in FA/FSc/ICom/ICS or A Level examinations in 2nd annual 2019
and 1st annual 2020 for morning and replica programs only. However, candidates of the earlier sessions will be considered by deducting 10 marks
for each year for Replica programs only.
6. Admission will be granted provisionally subject to verification of the certificates of the candidates from the relevant Secondary Board. Equivalence
certificate is required from IBCC Islamabad/Lahore (where applicable).
7. UET, Lahore Entry test is compulsory for BS Electrical Engineering program.
8. Entry test is compulsory for BSc Electrical/ Mechanical /Civil /Chemical Engineering Technology programs.
9. Entry Test (LAT) conducted by HEC is Compulsory for admission in LLB 5 Year.
10. The following pre-requisites for the respective undergraduate Programs with the condition that the candidates must have studied these subjects in
FA/FSc or higher secondary level for respective Programs:.
BS Economics , LLB (5-years),BEd (Hons) Elementary, BBA FA/FSc, ICS and A Level
i) FA/ FSc or equivalent and Matric with Science
BS Home Economics ii) DAE in the relevant Subject (05 seats Morning and Replica)
BS Food Science & Technology i) FSc (Pre-Medical/Pre-Engineering) and A Level
ii) DAE, Food Technology (2% seats)
At least, 60% marks are required in F.Sc. 1st year or DAE (first two years) as per the
requirement of the PEC. Merit Calculation/ aggregate marks are computed according to the
following formula:
i) FSc (Pre-Engineering/ Pre-Medical with additional subject of Mathematics)
ii) DAE, Electrical (2% seats)
• In case of Intermediate stream i.e. FSc (Pre-Engineering/ Pre-Medical with additional
subject of Mathematics):
a) UET Entry Test (ET) Percentage Marks: 30% weight in merit aggregate.
b) Matric Percentage Marks: 25% weight in merit aggregate.
c) First Year Percentage Marks: 45% weight in merit aggregate.
• In case of Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) stream i.e. DAE, Electrical (only 2% seats):
a) UET Entry Test (ET) Percentage Marks: 30% weight in merit aggregate.
b) Sum of First- and Second-Years Percentage Marks: 70% weight in merit aggregate.
• In case of foreign qualification:
BS Electrical Engineering a) UET Entry Test (ET) Percentage Marks: 30% weight in merit aggregate.
b) Marks earned in 11th Class (“O” level or equivalent): 70% weight in merit aggregate.
Notes:
a) After the result announcement, in case the candidate fails to obtain overall 60% marks in
FSc part - I & II or DAE (which is a basic eligibility requirement imposed by PEC), his/her
admission will be cancelled and fee will be refunded as per university rules.
b) For admissions of “A” level candidates, students should have to score at least “C”grade in Physics,
Mathematics and Chemistry.
c) In case of foreign qualification, letter grade will be converted to marks by Inter Board
Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) formula. IBCC equivalent certificate is required to be
submitted after admission.
d) In case the candidate has already completed his/her intermediate or equivalent
qualification, their Part-I result would be used in computation of Aggregate.
e) Number of Seats: 80 (Including all quotas. Sports quota is not applicable for admission in
BS Electrical Engineering)
f) All other admission regulations will be as per university rules
BSc Electrical Engineering Technology DAE Electrical, Electronics, Telecom, Mechanical, Civil and Chemical
11. 2% seats shall be fixed for the candidates who have passed DAE in the respective discipline / specialization. However, no quota of DAE is fixed for BS
Physics programme.
12. The formula for merit calculation of BSc Electrical Engineering Programme i.e.
i. Matric +F.Sc 70% weightage and UET Test 30% weightage.
ii. Matric + DAE 70% weightage and UET Test 30% weightage.
13. The formula for merit calculation of BSc Electrical/ Mechanical /Civil /Chemical Engineering Technology Programs i.e.
i. DAE/FSc 70% weightage and entry Test (UET/University Test) 30% weightage
14. Besides the open merit, the candidates may apply against the reserved seats for different programs as explained below:
a. For Morning Programs:
Besides the open merit, the candidates may apply the reserves seats i.e. 2% seats for co-curricular activities, 2% seats for sports, 2% seats for disabled,
2% seats for children of university employees (1% for teaching and 1% for non-teaching), 5% seats for Gilgit/Baltistan and Baluchistan, and 5% seats for
overseas Pakistani in all other morning programmes except Law. Furthermore, one seat for the children of shuhada of Armed Forces and Police personnel
However, in LLB 05 year programme 5% quota for Lawyers Son/Daughter (nominee of Punjab Bar Council), 2% seats for children of University Employee
(1% for teaching and 1% for non-teaching) and 2% quota for minorities. Furthermore, there will be no sports and co-curricular quota for Pharm-D, BS
Electrical Engineering, Law.
b. For Replica Programs:
Besides the open merit. 2% seats are reserved for children of university employees (1% for teaching and 1% for non-Teaching).
Note:
a. Only such candidates will be admitted on sports quota who have played at Board level.
b. Admission on the reserved/quota seats will be completed by the specified committee (s) in accordance with the admission rules for reserved seats.
c. Hafiz-e-Quran will be given 20 marks.
The fee shall be charged from the candidates under the quota of overseas Pakistanis twice the regular fee.
