  Background
Amber Denim Mills Ltd. Is one of the major concerns of Amber Group.It is a premium denim
fabric producing company.It has started its journey in 2012 with the best and latest
machinery available in the world. “Loom Shade for Amber Denim” designed by Archeground
Ltd. from Bangladesh has won the first prize in commercial category by Asia Architecture
Award 2015.They introduced waterbody,bamboo screen,high ceiling and other vernicular
elements substantially reducing electricity cost by eliminating the need for air conditioning
and artificial lighting and makes the space cool and comfortable to work in.

 Overview of the trip

Our course instructor Naznin Akther Ma’am had organized an industrial visit on 14 th
July,2018 to AMBER DENIM LTD,located in Rajendrapur,industrial sector of Gazipur which is
about 20 kms from IUT via transport provided by IUT for the students of BTM department.
We started our journey from IUT campus at 8 am along with our co-ordinator faculties.We
reached there within 10 am.At the very beginning of our visit we met Mr.Rony at the
entrance of the main gate who has been working for Amber Denim Mills LTD as HR manager
since 12 years.
He voluntarily showed us the factory and gave us many technical and managerial
information about how a factory works.Starting from dying machine to chemical mixing
lab,sizing management,finishing machine to everything we got to see were really helpful.
After that,they arranged refreshment for us in their meeting room where we had a small
interactive session with the top level managers.We asked them some of the related
questions and got satisfactory answers.At the end of this session,our honorable faculties
handed them over a small crest of appreciation to Amber Denim Mills LTD.Then we left for
IUT at around 12pm.

 Learnings
Technical objectives:
1. In order to learn the practical process of production flowchart.They have zero production
loss as all of the machineries are computer operated.
2. In order to learn about the proper safety measures and hazard mapping.
3. In order to learn about updating records of Metal Safety Data Sheet(MSDS) for buyers to
help them learn about inventory.
Managerial objectives:
1. In order to know about managerial structure of Amber Denim Mills LTD.
2. To learn about compliance policy,pc committee for worker welfare , labour and full
logistics management.
3. And other managerial activities conducted by Amber Denim Mills LTD.
