PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION: THE BASICS
We have that every company is classified as a large, medium or small, micro or
macro company, from the first moment that its product begins to be generated in
the market, it will be necessary to implement a distribution channel, this anger
closely linked to a good decision that It integrates factors such as: what type of
product do we seek to distribute, where will that product arrive, what modes and
means of transport should be used, taking into account that they must arrive in a
short time, and this results in the analysis that has previously been reached. that
the product is the most important factor to consider.
In all of this, it is important to retain customers through the reliability that the
product or merchandise arrives in good condition, is delivered at a good cost, by
prior agreement between both parties, and that the carrier has the necessary
insurance or requirements to transportation of the product.
Among the types of modes, we have:
By road: it has its advantages of being economical and flexible and in terms of its
disadvantages we have that if there is a high demand for delivery and long routes,
the shipment could be delayed
By rail: we have that rail transport among its advantages is “environmentally
friendly and is not (always) subject to congestion or delays. However, it is inflexible
and can be very expensive.”
By air: we have, without a doubt, "the fastest way to transport your products long
distances, but it is expensive and not very ecological".
By aircraft: we have that the costs in their rates are high and the cost determinant
takes into account how many Kg, handling fees, fuel surcharges, VAT (from
imports) and security process.
By Sea: the cost of this is lower than the air but its transportation is slower and the
disadvantage of being able to find few ports is added.
From the above we were able to demonstrate the classification of transport modes,
then the type of transport that operates according to the range of merchandise that
is being transported is addressed and thus be able to provide excellent logistics.
