Technical Terms
Batter boards are horizontal boards placed at corners and at the sides of
the projected building where the final layout takes place.
Foundation is lowest support on which the building rests.
Grade line is levelness of the ground after filling or leveling.
Ground line is natural contour of the ground.
Orientation line is line representing one side of the building to be erected.
Plumb is perpendicular to a horizontal line.
