Process Re-Engineering

An integrated software should be built where different departments have different kind of access. A
different software for each retail product from where technical report, CIB, CPV report, dedupe can be
selected and seen. i.e. Acquiring will give entry to file number with basic information such as client
name, loan amount, source PIN and tenure (Just for reference but analyst will cross check later).

 Branch/sales will submit files to acquiring. Acquiring will ensure document sufficiency. If OK,
Then give file number entry and send to respective MIS of respective credit department.
 MIS will give requisition for CIB and others (Technical, CPV, perform de dupe) and submit files to
credit manager. Managers will assign the files to analyst.
 In the meantime, the CVU report, technical support report, CIB, De Dupe report will be
subsequently attached with the file.
 Analyst will start analyzing the file. When the file is ready for proposal s/he will ‘submit the file’
and the file and the file will appear in the recommender’s module of the same software. If the
recommender recommends the file, the file will appear in approver’s module. Once the
approver approves the file, the system generated sanction letter will be applicable for printing.

This process should also include scanning and attachment of all the documents of the file. Thus, physical
movement of file would not be mandatory (During and after the appraisal). Thus, Credit (Analysts,
managers and approvers) will be able to process the file from remote places (if required).

Benefits of integrated loan processing software:

 Management can track the files presence.


 If detailed CRG (Credit risk grading) is introduced in the software, analyst can give basic entry to
the file and immediately identify the exceptional cases of the proposal. Analyst may directly
communicate with respective managers regarding the issue. Once an initial decision is taken
from the approver, analyst will proceed or decline.
 Exception authority will be programmed in the software and will be taken through the software.
This will enable errorless file process as specific exceptions will go to specific recommender only.
No scope for compliance violation will be there.
 See and justify the TAT of different department (MIS/Acquiring or analyst). Managers may show-
cause the respective employee regarding the delayed TAT issues.
 No physical movement is required as documents can be read from the digital scanning of the
file.
 For future references, files need not be called from archive as credit will be able to see the file in
system for any information.
 For few flat purchase cases, technical support unit can immediately update the report, based on
recent visit and in the cases of complete building project.
 Sales managers may be given read only and few access to the software so that they may
communicate further with credit if required. This might reduce conflict and confusion.
 Ownership related documents, DOM, POA and post sanction related documents will be scanned
and attached with the file for future references.
 Since, each file will be processed in the same software, credit managers will be able to generate
dump file with any criteria (TAT, recovery, loan amount etc) for a given period. No dependency
on other department will be required.
