SEAP Quarterly Report Engineers Registration Board - ERB 1.3 Detailed description of the report = + 1.3.1 Brief descriptions of the project Project Name: Geotechnical Investigation and Material Testing for the Proposed Construction of single storey buildings in Buhingwe District, Kigoma Region. 1.3.2 Background of the Project The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology intend to build training capacity in 25 Districts across the country, where by Buhingwe and Uvinza districts are inclusive in investigation. Buhigwe district is among of eight districts located at Kigoma region in Tanzania. The district link roads to Kigoma, Kasulu district and Republic of Burundi. On the northern direction, it is bordered by Republic of Burundi, ict is on eastern and western directions whereas Kasulu Urban district and Kigoma respectively. Generally, the site at Buhingwe district was mainly surrounded by hills and treeless mountains with cool temperature. Visual observation revealed natural reddish clays soil within districts. VETA Buhingwe site is located at about 89 km from Kigoma town. VETA Kigoma has proposed site to carry out geotechnical investigation where construction of single -storey building in Buhingwe district. Refer figure 1-2 below.
