METHODOLOGY IN DISMANTLING OF SPLIT TYPE AC UNITS:

1. Turn the equipment off.

2. Get to the outside equipment, take the lids from the valves on the pipes with a
wrench. They’re the tin hexagonal lids that are screwed to the pipes’ “elbows”.

3. Turn the AC on in the cold mode. (You may have to warm up the sensor if the day is
too cold, or start the procedure warming up the room where the inner air is installed,
as the technical alternative to this is a bit complicated)

4. Allow the equipment to run until the compressor starts. Screw the valve of the
thinner pipe all the way in with a 5mm-Allen wrench, and let the same Allen ready in
the other valve.

5. The compressor sound will change to a lower pitch. When it gets steady screw in the
other valve and tell the one inside to turn off/unplug the equipment.

6. Please bear in mind three things:

-If your reverse the order of the valves you loose all the refrigerant.
-If you take too long or you do it without an manifold/manometer you may burn the

Compressor.
- If you don’t allow enough time, refrigerant may not be removed completely.
METHODOLOGY IN DISMANTLING OF AC CHILLED WATER TYPES:

1. Turn Off the power supply breaker.

2. Shut off the Supply and Return Valve of the Chilled Water Lines.
3. Locate the Union Joints near the isolation valves of unit and remove the insulation.
4. Apply lubricant on the threaded joints ( Penetrating Oil ) to loosen rust particles,
Which usually builds up on black iron pipes.
5. Open the drain valve access, and drain the water from the FCU.
6. Loosen the union joint of the pipes, by turning it counter clockwise.
7. Loosen the unit hanger support and remove the Fan Coil unit.
