1.0 General
1.1 Scope
Specification for Stainless Steel Pipe

1.2 Code
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME):
Section II Part A, Ferrous Material Specification, 2007 Edition + 2008 Addenda

1.3 Material Specification : SA 312 TP 316L, 2007 Edition + 2008 Addenda

1.4 End Use : Nozzle neck.

2.0 Specification & Technical Delivery Condition

2.1 The material shall strictly conform to the requirements of SA 312M & SA 999M of
ASME Section II, Part A, 2007 Edition, 2008 Addenda.
2.2 Pipe manufatured shall be Hot Finished. Seamless(unless Specified), Plain Ends.
2.3 The steel shall conform as to chemical composition prescribed in Table 1 of specification
SA312M.
2.4 The tensile properties of the material shall conform to the requirements prescribed
in Table 4 of specification SA312M.
2.5 Hydrostatic test on each length of pipe shall be conducted as per requirement of section 12
of specification SA312M
2.6 The manufacturer or supplier shall furnish a Certified Test Report certifying that the
material was manufactured, sampled, tested, and inspected in accordance with the
Specification, including year date, the Supplementary Requirements (if applicable),
and that the results met the requirements of the Specification and the
Supplementary Requirements (If applicable).
The Certified Test Report shall be dated and clearly identify the organization
submitting the report.
In addition, the Certified test Report shall include the following information and test results
2.6.1 Heat Number
2.6.2 Heat Analysis
2.6.3 Flattening Test or Bend test
2.6.4 Visual & Dimensional Report
2.6.5 Hardness Test Values
2.6.6 Hydrostatic Test
2.6.7 Other test results to be reported by the product specification

2.5.8 Width of the gage length, if longitudinal strip tension test specimens were used.
2.6 Product marking shall be as per Section 17 of specification SA312M.
2.7 Material Mill Certificates shall be in accordance with EN-10204 3.1.
2.8 The size, quantity & length of the pipes shall be follow as per relevant PRS.
