OUTLINE ON CHARACTER ANALYSIS-ASOCENA

1. Introduction
1.1. Hook
1.2. Thesis-In the story Asocena , Ingo, a family man that cares for his son so much, though
known to be assertive when in conflict with others, was affrighted and recedes a fight.
2. Body
2.1. Topic Sentence #1- Ingo cares for his family, especially for his son, so much.
2.1.1. Textual evidence #1-When Chu walked out of the dining room, Ingo immediately
ran after Chu to check on him.
2.1.2. Textual evidence #2- He told Ñor Pedro about what Chu must be feeling after he
saw the incident between him and Tomas.
2.1.2.1. Commentary-
2.1.3. Textual Evidence #3- He remembered Ñor Pedro promised him a puppy. He went
to him to ask for it to compensate Chu for his loss.
2.1.3.1. Commentary-
2.2. Ingo is known to be assertive when in conflict with others
2.2.1. Textual evidence#1- His wife immediately warned him before he went out the
house to run after Chu.
2.2.2. Textual Evidence #2- Chu intuited that his father would go after Tomas without
Ingo saying anything about it.
2.2.2.1. Commentary-
2.3. Contrary to his assertiveness, he was affrighted as he avoided a fight.
2.3.1. Textual evidence #1- When he confronted Tomas and the latter stood up; he was
intimidated and did not argue further as he left.
2.3.1.1. Commentary-
2.3.2. Textual evidence #2- He asked Ñor Pedro whether Chu thinks his father is a
coward.

2.3.3. Textual evidence #3- in the latter part of the story, when Chu told him that he
should have at least put up a fight, he could not say anything as he rushed to their
house.
