The Head teacher is the most senior teacher and leader of school, responsible for education of all pupils,
management of staff and for school policy making, they’re trained equiped persons in management of
the school curriculum, ensuring that human and material resources are provided for and effectively used
for teaching.

The head teacher performs the best to provide better education to learners; tries to meet
stakeholders “expectations in terms of improving teaching learning, improving school infrastructures, k
keep the teachers motivating and satisfying parents.Headteachers lead,motivate and manage staff by
delegating responsibility, setting expectations, target and evaluating staff performance against them.On
the other hand he supervises and provides for academic professionals guidance to the teachers.The
Head teacher’s main roles is formulating overall aims and objectives for the school and policies for their
implementation, working with gorvernors and senior colleagues to deploy staff and recruit New staff
effectively, meeting with other education professional and representing the school at conferences and
other Events outside the school as well as monitoring the training and disciplining staff.By doing this

The head teacher has to plan a number of things in a school.He will chalk out the policies and
rules of admission.Date of admission are to be publicized.He should convene the meeting of the staff
and discuss with the teachers their activities and programs for the whole.The head teacher must check
that the plant is in proper shape and equipment is adequate,he also see that various registers needed
for different purposes are there in the school.At the beginning of the week it’s the head teacher’s role to
