1.0 General
1.1 Scope
Specification for Carbon Steel Forgings

1.2 Code
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME):
Section II Part A, Ferrous Material Specification, 2007 Edition+2008ADD.

1.3 Material Specification : SA 105

1.4 End Use : For use as header plugs for Air Cooled Exchangers.

2.0 Specification & Technical Delivery Condition

2.1 The material shall strictly conform to the requirements of SA 105 of

ASME Section II, Part A, 2007 Edition + 2008 Addenda.
2.2 The material shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition prescribed
in Table 1 of this material specification.
2.3 Carbon contents should not exceed 0.25% and carbon equivalent shall be limited to 0.45
2.4 The material shall conform to the requirements as to tensile properties prescribed
in Table 3 & 4 of this material specification.
2.5 The material shall be supplied in Normalized condition.
2.6 The manufacturer shall furnish a Certified Test Report certifying that the
material was manufactured, sampled, tested, and inspected in accordance with the
Specification, and that the results met the requirements of the Specification.

In addition, the Certified test Report shall include the following information and test results
2.7.1 Heat Number
2.7.2 Heat Analysis
2.7.3 Tensile Properties
2.7.4 Hardness Results
2.7.5 Other test results to be reported by the product specification
2.8 Material Mill Certificates shall be in accordance with EN-10204 3.1.
2.90 Dimensions and quantity shall be as per relevant Purchase Requesition.
2.10 SURFACE COATING SHALL USE XYLAR+XYLAN 1070
2.11 Material shall be from LLOYD'S Approved mills.
