The company might face the following challenges while trying to fulfil their digital vision.

Technology. The technological complexities, integration and compatibility of current systems, and
the implementation cost/ROI could be major technological impediments in executing digital
transformation of the company. Another challenge might be the accessibility and safety of sensitive
data. Because of this the company might avoid full IT integration and opt for isolated solutions only
for the non-critical business operations.

HR challenges.

The HR resistance to digital transformation is always underestimated. Lack of IT know-how and weak
understanding of digital tools and techniques can resist digital transformation. Plant level staff such
as designers and engineers might also find it difficult to transform from manual work to digital
integration

Core business obligations

Being in a core engineering industry, the company might face budget and resource limitations. In
order to fulfil their digital vision, the company cannot afford spending less time and resources on
their core activity of manufacturing pumps. Digital integration and transformation would surely
increase internal efficiency, but not at the cost of bottom-line. This can lead to reservations about
sticking to their digital transformation strategy.
