Structures

*Building – a structure built, erected and framed of component structure parts designed for the
housing, shelter, enclosure or support of person, animals or property of any kind.

The purposed for which a building is used or intended to be used as occupancy.

All buildings intended for human habitation, according to Code must have an adequate supply of
potable running water.

In existing buildings in which plumbing installation are to be renovated, the Code may permit the work
to be done: with necessary deviation, providing the intent of the Code is meet.

*Single family Dwelling – a building design as a home by the owner of such building and shall be the
only dwelling located on a parcel of ground with the usual accessory building.

A single-family house, connected to a public sewer, may discharge all but one of the following
substances through its drainage system without violating the Code: fireplace ashes

All premises intended for human habitation, occupancy or use shall be provided with a supply of pure
and wholesome water, neither connected with unsafe water supplies nor subject to hazards of backflow
or back–siphonage.

*Shaft – a vertical opening through a building for elevators, dumbwaiters, light, ventilation or similar
purposes.

*Court – an open, unoccupied space, bounded on two (2) or more sides by the walls of the building. An
inner court is a court entirely within the exterior walls of the building. All other courts are outer courts.

Yard – an open, unoccupied space other than a court, unobstructed from the ground to the sky.

Tank

*Wastewater holding tank – it must be periodically removed and properly disposed of to some
approved off-site location shall be installed when required by the Administrative Authority or the Health
Officer.
*Air tank – a tank shall be maintained an air pressure of not less than 3 kg for each meter of height the
sewage is raised.

*Pressure tank – flushing is very noisy, expensive and has a low water usage (1.5 gpf) that helps
conserve water. Large water surface makes this model efficient and design features make it suitable for
residential use.

Pressure/tankless – expensive, flushing is very noisy and large water surface and large trap way size
make this model efficient and suitable for commercial use.

*Gravity tank:

Elevated or gravity tank vent shall be screened with a fine corrosion–resistant screen with openings not
less than 14–18 mess per 25 mm.

*Cistern tank – an underground tank reservoir to store water.

Drawing

The drawings, specification, calculations and etc. for plumbing / sanitary permit will be signed by a
registered and licensed, Master plumber.

Types of Drawing:

*Exterior Elevation Drawing – it is a scaled view that shows the shape and size of the exterior walls and
the roof of the building.

*Isometric Drawing – is a three-dimensional drawing in the plumbing system.

*Plot plan – is a civil drawing that shaped and size of the building lot and the location on the building
lot.

*Schematic piping layout – is a drawing of piping system without regard to scale and exact location of
the fixture shown in drawing.
*Section Drawing – is a scaled view created by passing an imaginary cutting plane through a portion of a
building.

*Detailed Drawing – is a drawing showing a small part of a floor plan, elevation or section drawing at
enlarge scale.

Ladder

Ladder – is a temporary or movable platform and structures for plumbers to stand on when working
above level.

Types of Ladder:

*Stepladder – it’s a type of ladder that stands independently of support.

*Fixed ladder – is a ladder that is permanently attached to a structure, tank or vault.

*Extension ladder – is an adjustable height ladder with a fixed bed section and sliding lockable fly
section.

Pawl lock – is a pivoting hook mechanism attached to the fly section of an extension ladder to hold the
fly section at the desired height.
