The Government of India has introduced a new sub-scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna- National
Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) entitled “Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana” (AGEY) from the
financial year 2017-18.
Under the programme, the Community Investment Fund (CIF) provided to Community based
Organization (CBOs) under the existing provisions of Day-NRLM scheme will be utilized to support the
SHG members to operate the public transport services.
The said scheme was initially implemented in 250 blocks on a pilot basis with each block provided upto
six vehicles to provide transport services to habitations already connected by all-weather rural roads.
Total six blocks are identified in first phase of AGEY for its implementation in Haryana, out of six blocks
one Block is Gharaunda of District Karnal.
In Haryana State AGEY was started by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Manohal Lal on dated 30/09/2017
from the District Karnal and six vehicles are given to SHG Members by Hon’ble Chief Minister in first
phase of AGEY. The information of the above said vehicles are given below:-
As AGEY creates Livelihoods to SHG members, it’s also provide transportation facility in the remote
areas of rural. All the operation of the vehicle is in the defined area and on the routes as specified by the
CBO after the feasibility study.
