Application to the SEAC, F&ED, GOG, for 'B' category projects as listed in
the EIA Notification dated 14-9-2006

Scoping / Terms of Reference for the EIA Report 60 days

Public Consultation to be carried out by the GPCB

(Comprises of Public Hearing and Response in Writing) 45 days

Appraisal by the SEAC based on the EIA report and

the outcome of the public consultation process 60 days

SEAC Recommendation to the

SEIAA 60 days

Decision by the SEIAA 45 days

Grant of EC with Reject of the EC with

conditions reasons

Total 270 days if all formalities / procedures are followed correctly.

EC = Environmental Clearance
EIA = Environment Impact Assessment
SEIAA = State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority
SEAC = State Level Expert Appraisal Committee

For 'A' category projects, similar procedure is followed at the MoEF, GOI,
level with same time limit at each stage.
