MODIFIED SUGGESTED ASSESSMENT FOR ONLINE CLASS

Online learning develops the use of technology to help students learning interactions with varied in
creative ways. In creating an assessment tool we can incorporate audio, video, and social media which is
widely accessible platform for this generation’s newly breed of 21 st century learners. We can access the
used of Social media like Facebook and messenger for group collaboration. Creating pages where they
could post their views and ideas but with proper intervention and advice from the teachers. There must be
a proper exercise of responsible media which is evaluated properly by the teacher. Collaborative, creative
research techniques and more to help students build valuable skills they can use in the workplace. In
addition, you can take advantage of convenient and far-reaching tools of communication to help students
connect with one another and even their own communities. Assessment in new normal classroom will
appear to be creative and unique; no longer can it be an opportunity for exciting streams by the use of
technology. There could be disadvantages in authenticity but we need to be adoptive in the new trends of
tech and adjust to the needs of existing times.

We think about how we can design assessments through the use the digital environment without deviating
from the standards of competencies.

For example, we might consider asking students to find, evaluate, and synthesize information from Web-
based resources to answer questions or solve problems. Or we can ask them to access multimedia tools
(like. video, podcasts, digital storytelling, concept mapping tools) for representation.

One of the benefits of online courses is the opportunity to bring together students from diverse
backgrounds; they can link and connect in other multi or diverse learners.

For ex. In an online Social Science class, the teacher may asks students in a number of remote locations
to map their locality , using audio, video, and images to highlight and explain places of cultural
significance and landmarks in their locale.

Incorporate collaboration

In online courses, students can build a link of connection through a well-designed group projects. In an
assigned group projects they can collaborate connect to one another, build important skills for working
in teams for ex. In an online Social Science subject, students work collaboratively in Twitter to compose
a short story in their childhood years.

Assessment pools could also be done through Quipper, Google classroom, and live stream Zoom Google
meet sessions.

3. Poll/Quiz results in real time. ......

4. Modified rubrics… provide students with explicit and detailed rubrics to accurately communicate
expectations for student performance. If course material is highly technical, consider using
ungraded, self-check quizzes as a formative assessment to check student learning and determine
whether teaching strategies should be altered.
5. Students scheduled summative assessment based on module per quarter.
