ABSTRACT: Training and development play an important role in the effectiveness of organizations
and to the experiences of people in work. Training has implications for productivity, health and safety at
work and personal development. All organizations employing people need to train and develop their
staff.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT is a subsystem of an organization. It ensures that randomness is reduced


and learning or behavioral change takes place in structured format. Training Organized activity aimed at
imparting information and/or instructions to improve the recipient's performance or to help him or her
attain a required level of knowledge or skill. 22 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Development This activity
focuses upon the activities that the organization employing the individual, or that the individual is part
of, may partake in the future, and is almost impossible to evaluate. DEFINITION OF TRAINING AND
DEVELOPMENT: “TRAINING IS THE SYSTEMATIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,AND THE
ATTITUDES REQUIRED BY AN INDIVIDAL TO PERFORM ADEQUATELY A GIVEN JOB OR TASK”. _MICHAEL
ARMSTRONG

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:


 To study the employees perception towards effectiveness of Training program.
 To identify the employees understanding on importance of the training program.
 To find out the employees attitude and interest towards the training program.
 To find out the impact of training program on employees job performance.
 To find out the employees satisfaction towards the training program.
 To study the present training and development programs of the company.
 To identify the benefits gained from the training and development programs.
 To suggest the measures to improve the training and development programs of SAGAR
CEMENTS Limited.
Research methodology

Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as
science of studying how research is done scientifically. The present study is on TRAINING AND
DEVELOPMENT. The research was done to find out the employees’ perception towards effectiveness of
Training programmes. The survey design is based on the primary source of data. Two methods of
primary data were selected to conduct the study i.e., the questionnaire method and the personal
interview method.
a. Questionnaire: Questionnaire consists of questions that are closed ended as well as open ended
questions having fixed response pattern with multiple answers.
b. B. Informal interview: The interviews that have been taken from the general managers, human
resources managers and some of the executives have helped a lot in collecting the information
The secondary data are available relatively quick and inexpensive to obtained. It is collected by
using the following methods. Company records Text-book and manuals Job description of
employees
