Electronic media

Electronic media is media that put into use electronics to deliver any content.
Many people tend to confuse this media with static media which is created
electronically but eliminates electronics when it comes to accessing the
content. All media that use electronic media require a modern encoding of the
content. They are various types of this media. That is the television, radio,
DVDs, Fax and so forth. However, different media have advantages and
disadvantages of using them and electronic media is not unlike. Check out the
risks and benefits of using electronic media.

Electronic media is fast. This media is cost-effective hence manageable than

the static media. Electronic media allows easy management of global
operations. Cost of development is high, especially when establishing TV
media houses. Electronic media is prone to pending message delivery at
times. Electronics technology changes now and then. Therefore, keeping up is
impossible for some countries. Some electronic media may misinform the
public.

It is no secret that electronic media has improved global communication.

However, there are advantages and disadvantages to using electronic media.
The public should take high-class caution when using it to prevent more harm
than good.

The Power and Responsibilty of the Press

The medium of the press is most strong source of communication with the masses. It is a need
of every country to maintain a free press for the purpose of keeping its people aware of their
surroundings. Newspapers provide national and international news at people’s doorstep. It is an
effective channel for informing to people about government policies and the changes taking
place at social, economic, political as well as religious spheres. The press can influence the
opinion of people to great extent through its news.

To provide the right news in the right time, it is imperative that the press of a country be free. It
should not use its power for the personal benefit of an individual or one segment of the society.

Until such power and freedom of the press is used within restraint and balance it is useful for
the overall good of society. Hence, it is the responsibility of the press to publish only those
news that are from reliable and proper sources. It must be ensured that the news that is of
great importance to the people should not be from an individual pint of view.
Growing Up in Poverty
Poverty, is the single largest social denominator which neatly divides the
society between the haves and have-nots and the ever-increasing exodus
of middle class population tightly wedged between the two extremes. The
looming shadow of poverty hangs heavily on the economic, social,
psychological and physiological bearing of those suppressed beneath its
burden.

Poverty or the inability to meet even the basic necessities of life aims to
erode the very right ofa person to live life with dignity. Where basic
needs like the next meal, a shelter over one’s head, clothes to provide
cover are not met, being able to provide for education, recreation or
medical facility is unheard of.

The circumstance under which life is suffered under the shadow of

poverty certainly leaves any individual much the worse as it deprives him
of the right to achieve his potential as free and equal member of society.

However, it is also true that some of the most illuminating examples of

humanity, sensitivity and empathy has emerged from the darkest
recesses of poverty. Life redeems and allows us to hope that better
access to better opportunities and facilities of life shall perhaps one day
help to free them from these shackles and allow to live life as an equal
and deserving member of the society.

 Good Governance Key To Eliminating

Poverty
Good governance is considered the key to poverty reduction. Getting good
governance that contributes to poverty reduction is extraordinarily difficult.
Even getting good governance is fraught with challenges. A major problem is the
size of the agenda. The ‘must be done’ list to encourage development and
reduce poverty is huge. More seriously, there is little guidance about what’s
essential, what should come first and what should follow and what is feasible.
Focussing on sorting out these issues might result in the goal of good
governance being recast as ‘good enough governance’, that is, a condition of
minimally acceptable government performance and civil society engagement
that does not hinder economic and political development and that permits
poverty reduction initiatives to go forward. Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers
(PRSPs) have encouraged governments to define the tasks they must take on to
reduce poverty, but this has not made the list of governance reforms more
manageable.

There are a series of issues connected with making the good governance
agenda more manageable, advancing the cause of better performance and
emphasising the political nature of policy and institutional reform.

Role and power of media in today’s world

21st century has turned out to be a century of media

war, as it has turned out to be the most lethal
weapon of the contemporary age. Drastic, cultural,
political and social changes can now be seen as a
result of revolutions brought about by media. Media
is bursting forth like a meteor and breaking new
frontiers.
A free press and electronic media is an essential attribute of democratic polity as both
work hand in glove with each other. If democracy is the government of the people,
media is the voice of the people. Media has also played a significant role in bringing the
world at our doorstep. It produces and introduces different lifestyles in the world,
changes moods and behavior, braves the bold topics through dramas and talk shows. It
also suggests the new household styles, guides the youth to new opportunities and
creates civic sense.
Media is bursting forth like a meteor, breaking new frontiers. In this age of cosmic
revolution and technology and means of communication, those archaic barriers blocking
any people’s access to independent source of information are being dismantled rapidly
to the utter discomfort of the obscurantist still intent on keeping them intact.

Need for Global peace and stability

The nature of global security has changed dramatically over the past years.

International agreements are not complied with, new forms of terrorism have

emerged aiming to frighten people and countries and attempting to impose their own

rules and order on the world. We cannot make any concessions to terrorists or to

instigators of war. We cannot close our eyes and think that problems and conflicts

will disappear. Every country must assume responsibility for maintaining peace in

the world.

Keeping peace throughout the world requires collective responsibility, efforts and
determination as well as fulfilment of obligations. The security of all countries is indivisible -
we all are responsible for peace and sustainable future. We have to act together to stop
armed conflicts, redrawing the borders of sovereign states and creating frozen conflicts.
And we must do it immediately," the Presidentt Dalia Grybauskaitė said.
If we fail and violence, aggression and terror win, we are at risk to wake up on the doorstep
of everyone fighting each other and with chaos prevailing. All countries of the world never to
abandon the values that hold us together and to take immediate concrete action to counter
challenges to global security.
