Theme of Surah Naziat

• It’s a Makki Surah

• It deals with the incorrect beliefs that the Makkan people had
like they believed…
1. Angels were the daughters of Allah S.W.T
2. There would be no Day of Judgement
3. Resurrection is impossible
4. Rejected Quran and Prophet because of their arrogance
 Ayah 1-5

Angels are only a creation of Allah S.W.T

Allah corrected their beliefs and told them

that angels are only a creation of Allah
S.W.T and are working by His command. He
mentions a few of the angels tasks that
they do
 ِ ‫ش ٰط‬
ۙ ‫ت نَ ۡش ًطا‬ ِ ‫ﱠوالنﱣ‬ 2

And by those who

‫س ۡب ًحا‬ ِ ‫س ِب ٰح‬
َ ‫ت‬ ‫ﱠوال ﱣ‬ 3 remove with ease
ؕ ۙ ‫غ ۡرقًا‬ ِ ‫َوالنﱣ ِز ٰع‬
َ ‫ت‬ 1
And by those who glide And by those [angels] who
[as if] swimming extract with violence
 ِ ‫ﻓَ ۡال ُم َد ِبّ ٰر‬
ۘ ‫ت ا َ ۡم ًرا‬ 5 ۙ ‫س ۡبﻘًا‬ ِ ‫س ِب ٰﻘ‬
َ ‫ت‬ ‫ﻓَال ﱣ‬ 4

And those who arrange And those who race each

[each] matter other in a race
 Ayah 6-9

Day of Judgement is True

Allah S.W.T gives a small description of how

the Day of Judgement will happen in a
matter of seconds. And how the condition
of people will be on that day.
 ُ‫اجفَة‬
ِ ‫الر‬
‫ف ﱠ‬ُ ‫يَ ۡو َم ت َ ۡر ُج‬
ؕ ُ‫ت َ ۡت َبعُ َها ال ﱠرا ِدﻓَة‬ 7 6

The subsequent will On the Day the Quaking will

follow it quake
 ٌ‫اجفَة‬ ٌ ‫قُلُ ۡو‬
ِ ‫ب يﱠ ۡو َمى ٍذ ﱠو‬ 8
ٌ‫شعَة‬
ِ ‫ار َها َخا‬
ُ ‫ص‬َ ‫ا َ ۡب‬ 9
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,
Their eyes will be humbled
 Ayah 10-12

Denial of Resurrection
These ayat are the statements that the
people of Makkah said in denial of being
resurrected.
 ِ ‫قَالُ ۡوا تِ ۡل َك اِذًا َك ﱠرةٌ َخا‬
ٌ‫س َرة‬ 12 ‫يَﻘُ ۡولُ ۡو َن َءاِنﱠا لَ َم ۡرد ُۡود ُۡو َن ﻓِى ۡال َحـاﻓِ َر ِة‬ 10
They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." They say, "Will we indeed be returned to
[our] former state [of life]?

َ ‫َءاِذَا ُكنﱠا ِع‬

ؕ ً‫ظا ًما نﱠ ِخ َرة‬ 11

Even if we should be decayed bones?

 Ayah 13-14

Answer to their denial

Allah S.W.T mentions that to resurrect all
humans is very easy for Him. It will only
take one blow and every one will be out of
their deaths sleep.
 ‫ﻓَ ِاذَا ُه ۡم ِبال ﱠ‬
ؕ ‫سا ِه َر ِة‬ 14

And suddenly they will be [alert] ِ ‫ﻓَ ِانﱠ َما ِه َى َز ۡج َرةٌ ﱠو‬
ٌ‫اح َدة‬ 13
upon the earth's surface.
Indeed, it will be but one shout,
 Ayah 15 - 26

The Pharaohs Example

The Makkans were too arrogant to accept the Oneness

of Allah and the Quran. So Allah S.W.T gave the
example of Firawn, who was punished by Allah S.W.T
because of his arrogance towards Allah and His
messenger Hazrat Musa for them to take a lesson from
this event.
ۚ‫ط ًوى‬ ِ ‫ا ِۡذ نَ ٰادىهُ َربﱡ ٗه ِب ۡال َوا ِد ۡال ُمﻘَد‬
ُ ‫ﱠس‬ 16 ۘ‫ث ُم ۡو ٰسى‬ َ ‫َه ۡل اَ ٰت‬
ُ ‫ىك َح ِد ۡي‬ 15
When his Lord called to him in the sacred Did the story of Musa came to you?
valley of Tuwa Has there reached you the story of Moses?
ۙ ‫ﻓَﻘُ ۡل َه ۡل لﱠ َك ا ِٰلٓى اَ ۡن تَ َز ﱣكى‬ 18 ◌ۖ ‫ا ِۡذ َه ۡب ا ِٰلى ﻓِ ۡرع َۡو َن اِنﱠ ٗه َط ٰغى‬ 17

And say to him, 'Would you [be

Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed
willing to] purify yourself

Be Good
GO
 ‫اﻻيَةَ ۡالك ُۡب ٰرى‬
ٰ ۡ ُ‫ﻓَا َ ٰرىه‬ 20 ۚ‫َوا َ ۡه ِديَ َك ا ِٰلى َر ِّب َك ﻓَت َ ۡخ ٰشى‬ 19

And he [Moses] showed him [pharoh] the greatest sign

And let me guide you to your Lord so
you would fear [Him]?
 ‫ﻓَ َحش ََر ﻓَنَ ٰادى‬ 23 ‫ث ُ ﱠم ا َ ۡدبَ َر يَ ۡس ٰعى‬ 22
‫َصى‬ َ ‫ﻓَ َكذﱠ‬
ٰ ‫ب َوع‬ 21

And he gathered [his Then he turned his

But he [Pharaoh] denied
people] and called out back, striving.
and disobeyed
 ‫اﻻ ِخ َر ِة َو ۡاﻻ ُ ۡو ٰلى‬
ٰ ۡ ‫ﻓَا َ َخذَ ُه ﱣ ُ َن َ ا َل‬ 25 ‫ﻓَﻘَا َل اَنَا َر ﱡب ُك ُم ۡاﻻَ ۡع ٰلى‬ 24

So Allah seized him as an exemplary punishment And he said, "I am your most exalted lord.
in the hereafter and the present world.
 ‫ا ﱠِن ِﻓ ۡى ٰذ ِل َك لَ ِع ۡب َرةً ِلّ َم ۡن ﱠي ۡخ ٰش ؕى‬ 26

Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [ Allah ].

Arrogance is never successful

 Ayah 27-33

Reflect on Allah’s Creations:

Allah S.W.T invites people to reflect on His creations so that

they will get the truth.
How could you think raising the dead is impossible for Allah.
Look at the massive sky and think which is more difficult:
Creating people or the whole universe?
This reflection will lead a person to the truth. There is only one
creator and nothing is impossible for Him.
 ‫ش ﱡد َخ ۡلﻘًا ا َ ِم ال ﱠ‬
‫س َما ٓ ُء ؕ َب ٰنى َها‬ َ َ ‫َءاَ ۡنت ُ ۡم ا‬ 27

Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.
 ‫ض ٰحى َها‬
ُ ‫ج‬ َ ‫َو ا َ ۡغ َط‬
َ ‫ش لَ ۡيلَ َها َوا َ ۡخ َر‬ 29
And He darkened its night and
30 extracted its brightness.

‫ض بَ ۡع َد ٰذ ِل َك د َٰحى َها‬
َ ‫َو ۡاﻻ َ ۡر‬
And after that He spread the earth. َ َ‫س ۡم َك َها ﻓ‬
ۙ ‫س ﱠوى َها‬ َ ‫َرﻓَ َع‬
He raised its ceiling then
proportioned it.
 ‫َو ۡال ِجبَا َل اَ ۡر ٰسى َها‬ 32
And the mountains He
set firmly

ِ َ‫عا لﱠـك ُۡم َو ِﻻَ ۡنع‬

‫ام ُك ۡؕم‬ ً ‫َمتَا‬ ‫ا َ ۡخ َر َج ِم ۡن َها َما ٓ َء َها َو َم ۡر ٰعى َها‬
As provision for you and your He extracted from it its water
grazing livestock. and its pasture,
 Ayah 34-36

Every deed done now, will be visible to us on Qiyamah

Day of judgment will happen and then every one will see how
they spent their lives in the world. In obedience to Allah or
disobedience to Allah?
 ‫س ٰع ۙى‬ ُ ‫س‬
َ ‫ان َما‬ َ ‫اﻻ ۡن‬
ِ ۡ ‫يَ ۡو َم يَتَذَك ُﱠر‬ 35
The Day when man will remember
that for which he strove
36
‫ت ۡال َج ِح ۡي ُم ِل َم ۡن يﱠ ٰرى‬
ِ ‫َوبُ ِ ّر َز‬
And Hellfire will be exposed 34
for [all] those who see

‫طا ٓ ﱠمةُ ۡالك ُۡب ٰرى‬ ِ ‫ﻓَ ِاذَا َجا ٓ َء‬

‫ت ال ﱠ‬
But when there comes the
greatest Overwhelming Calamity
 Ayah 37-41

Final Destinations

The final destination will be based on how a

person lived their worldly life.

Hell: Jannah:
For those who did whatever they For those who did whatever Allah likes
wanted and preferred worldly and controlled the desires that went
things over Allah’s commands against His commands

‫ﻓَا ﱠِن ۡال َج ِح ۡي َم ِه َى ۡال َم ۡا ٰو ؕى‬
Then indeed, Hellfire will be
[his] refuge
‫َو ٰاثَ َر ۡال َح ٰيوةَ الد ۡﱡنيَا‬ 38
37
39
And he preferred the worldly life
‫ﻓَا َ ﱠما َم ۡن َط ٰغ ۙى‬
So as for he who transgressed
 40

َ ‫اف َمﻘَا َم َر ِبّ ٖه َو نَ َهى النﱠ ۡف‬

‫س ع َِن ۡال َه ٰو ۙى‬ َ ‫َوا َ ﱠما َم ۡن َخ‬
And as for he who feared the position of his Lord and he
‫ﻓَا ﱠِن ۡال َجـنﱠةَ ِه َى ۡال َم ۡا ٰو ؕى‬ 41 stopped himself from evil desires
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge
 Ayah 42-45

True Job of a Prophet

The Makkan people asked the Prophet for the exact

time and date of when Day of Judgement will
happen.
Then Allah reminds people that the job of a Prophet
is only to warn people about it. Not tell them
irrelevant things.
 ‫ﻓِ ۡي َم اَ ۡنتَ ِم ۡن ِذ ۡك ٰرى َه ؕا‬ 43
In what [position] are you that
you should mention it?

42

‫ا ِٰلى َر ِبّ َك ُم ۡنت َ ٰهى َه ؕا‬ 44 ‫ان ُم ۡر ٰسى َها‬

َ ‫ع ِة اَيﱠ‬ ‫يَ ۡســــلُ ۡونَ َك ع َِن ال ﱠ‬
َ ‫سا‬
To your Lord belongs its finality They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the
Hour: when is its arrival?

Only Allah Knows ?

When
?

?
 ‫اِنﱠ َم ۤا ا َ ۡنتَ ُم ۡن ِذ ُر َم ۡن ﱠي ۡخ ٰشى َه ؕا‬ 45
You are only a warner for the one who fear it

The Prophet is
only a Warner
 Ayat 46

Reality of this Life

People disobey Allah for the love of this worldly life

even though on day of judgement our whole life will
seem as though it was only a morning or evening.
 ُ ‫شيﱠةً ا َ ۡو‬
‫ض ٰحى َها‬ َ ‫َكاَنﱠ ُه ۡم يَ ۡو َم يَ َر ۡونَ َها لَ ۡم يَ ۡلبَث ُ ۡۤوا ا ﱠِﻻ‬
ِ ‫ع‬ 46

The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not remained (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning
