Description
Admix TS 500 is a superior thin set adhesive modified with cutting edge polymers designed for
installation of medium, low or zero absorption tiles such as ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic, natural
stones not sensitive to moisture, especially large-format tiles. Complies with ISO 13007 type C2 and
ANSI 118.4 standards.

Main Applications
Designed for interior or exterior floor and wall installation of low absorption and large format tile.

Advantages and Benefits

Latest generation polymers provide the following benefits:
 Tenacious bond to low absorption porcelain tile and substrate.
 One product for floor and wall installation.
 Excellent open time. Allows for adjustments or corrections during placement operations.
 Excellent wet adhesion.
Instructions for Use
Surface preparation:
Substrate must be structurally sound, dry, clean, free of any laitance, dirt, dust, loose material, release
agent, grease, paint, oil or any other material that can act as a bond breaker. The substrate must be
level or plumb to within TCNA standards. Any expansion joint must be respected according per ANSI A
108 AN-3.7.
Mixing
Add potable water to a dry, clean mixing container. Add dry mortar to the water slowly and mix with
low speed drill at low speed (400 - 600 rpm) for 2 to 3 minutes until obtaining a mortar with a lump-free
consistency. Allow product to slake for 5 to 10 minutes before remixing for 1 minute prior to installation.
Mixing ratios:
By weight: 4.88 - 5.40 liters per bag.
By volume: 2.75 - 3.25 parts of mortar per 1 part of water.
Application:
Do not mix more product than can be installed within 20 to 30 minutes (depending on ambient and
substrate temperature). Extend product with the flat side of the trowel, working it into the substrate.
Comb additional mortar in a single direction using a notched trowel. Make adjustments and
corrections as necessary within 30 minutes after mixing the product. Grout joints after a minimum of 24
hours after installation. Remix when needed to improve consistency. Do not retemper with water.

Clean tools and floor using soap and water.

Precautions and Recommendations

 Back butter all large format tiles (greater than 15” on any side) to provide full bedding and firm
support.
 Applying thick bed (greater than 3/8 ”or 10 mm) is not recommended. Use a leveling screed such
as Admix Level or a self leveling underlayment like Admix SLU for leveling the substrate.
 Determine the suitability of Admix TS 500 for specific project requirements by installing in a test
area.
 Do not retemper with water. Mix for 2 minutes to improve consistency of mortar without adding
water.
 Installation is not recommended if the surface or ambient temperature is below 10 ° C or above
35 ° C.
 For installations in swimming pools (pools), contact your nearest Admix Technical Center.
 Do not lay tile over Admix TS 500 once it has started to harden.
