1. ALCANCE 1. SCOPE

This specification covers the minimum

requirement for furnishing all labor,
material and services in connection
with the design, fabrication, calibration,
factory testing, documentation, tagging
and shipping for Flow Transmitters
Sonar Type required for use in the
projects of Compañía Minera Antamina
S.A.

The Vendor shall furnish the

equipment as listed on the attached
data sheets, and as described herein,
including all accessories required to
insure accurate, safe, continuous and
reliable operation of the system.

The design, operation and

performance of the all system and its
components and accessories are
responsibility of the Vendor

Compliance with this Specification

does not relieve the Vendor of its
responsibility to supply the equipment
such that it has safety, operability,
maintainability and reliability and be
designed for continuous full load
services.

All materials of construction for all

components and accessories,
including spares, shall be new, suitable
for the service and duty and shall meet
the requirements of codes and
regulations as specified under
Paragraph 2.0 of this specification.

The Vendor shall provide certified and

qualified personnel when required by
Compañía Minera Antamina S.A. to
supervise installation, testing,
calibration and start-up of the supplied
product.

The climatic conditions at the plant are

specified in, "Site Conditions" 0000-
GEN-01. The Vendor shall notify if the
climatic conditions available are not
adequate for the proposed system.

In case there are discrepancies

between this specification and the
applicable codes or standards, the
applicable code or standard shall
supersede and Antamina is informed in
writing by the Vendor of such
discrepancies.

In case there are discrepancies

between this specification and the
attached data sheets, the data sheets
shall supersede.

3. CONDICIONES DE OPERACION 3. OPERATING CONDITIONS

Each device furnished under this

specification shall be suitable for
continuous operation, 24 hours per
day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per
year, in a dusty atmosphere containing
grit and micron sized particles in dry
plant or with acid mist in wet plant and
shall perform satisfactorily under
environmental and operating
conditions specified in the attached
instrument data sheets.

Electrical power supply will be 120

Volts AC. 60 Hz, 2 wires, and
grounded single phase. Supply line
voltage variation ±10% can be
encountered. Power supplies shall be
both input and output fused and solid
state components to be used
throughout. Vendor shall state in his
proposal power requirements.

All electrical and electronic field

instruments shall have clamp type
terminal blocks or screw terminals. All
terminals shall be clearly marked with
L, N, G for power supply; +, -, G for
analogue signal and C, NC or NO for
switch contacts. For other marks
proposed by Vendor, those are clearly
marked.

Each instrument shall be Vendor's

standard, heavy duty, field proven
designed with a record of successful
operation in industrial environments as
required for the application specified in
the data sheet

The instruments and accessories shall

be waterproof and dust proof and shall
comply with NEMA 4 or NEMA 4X,
according to data sheets.

Electrical area classification shall be

non-hazardous unless otherwise is
stated in the data sheets.

4. REQUERIMIENTOS TECNICOS 4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

4.1. SENSOR HEAD 4.1. SENSOR HEAD

The sensor head will contain no

moving parts.

The sensor head shall include a

sensor band, a thermal barrier and
fiberglass or stainless steel cover
assembly to protect the sensor band.

The sensor band shall be composed

by an array of piezo electric polymers
that sensing the fluid pressure field, in
the external wall of pipe. The velocity
is obtained with measurement of the
frequency of pressure field.

The sensor band is wrapped around

and clamped onto the process pipe.

A multi-conductor cable electrically

connects the sensors to an electronic
module mounted in the cover
assembly. Signals from the electronic
module exit through a NEMA 4X rated
connector mounted to the outer

surface of the cover assembly.

Sensor shall provide a continuous

measurement of process velocity and
shall produce an electrical signal to
transmitter. With this signal shall be
calculate the volumetric flow.

4.2. TRANSMISOR 4.2. TRANSMITTER

The transmitter receives electrical

signals from the sensor head.

The signals are processed using sonar

array processing firmware that displays
the calculated results on an integral
LCD screen.

The transmitter output signal shall be

an isolated 4-20 mA DC signal with
HART protocol, which shall have a
variable load handling capability of at
least 500 Ohms unless otherwise
specified on the data sheets.

Output signals required of the

transmitter shall be in terms of
volumetric flow rate and totalized flow.

Requirements operate in accordance

with the following , unless specified in
data sheets:

 Repeatability is 0.3% reading,

 The accuracy is ± 1 % of reading

 Flow Noise Filter.
 Flow Damping Filter 0 - 500 s.
 Flow Spike Filter, 0 -50 readings,

The transmitters shall be furnished

with integral LCD digital indicator and
shall display the variable according to
the corresponding output range, as
specified on the Data Sheets, also the
following data shall be configurable:

The transmitter includes a USB port (or

other interface) to transfer data to a
computer when the communication is
lost.

Diagnostic routines and self-diagnosis

shall be included in the transmitter.

The system shall be immune to

radiofrequency and electromagnetic
interferences and to the acoustical
noises created by the pumps, agitators
and other electrical or mechanical
equipment, and splashing or falling of
the material being measured.

The transmitters shall have a flat

mounting bracket for installation in a
two-inch pipe or wall according to
specified on data sheets and shall
supply connection cables between
sensor and transmitter.

Performance requirement (linearity,

repeatability and accuracy) shall be as
specified on the Data Sheets.

Selection of the ranges and local

configuration of parameters shall be
available by means of an integral
keypad and/or by digital
communication to terminal or control
system.

Transmitter shall be factory calibrated

to the range indicated on Data Sheets.
Vendor shall supply calibration
certificates.

The Transmitter shall be remote from

the sensor and of identical design and
construction to allow interchangeability
with other probes; exception shall be
specified on data sheets.

5. MONTAJE, INSPECCION Y 5. ASSEMBLY, INSPECTION AND

PRUEBAS TESTING

The manufacturer shall shop-assemble

all instruments and components,
provide its own quality control
inspection, and shall perform all testing
required to demonstrate that the
instrument is in full compliance with the
specifications and is completely
operable.

The manufacturer shall perform

calibration and/or configuration of all
instruments according to the ranges or
data indicated in the attached data
sheets. Calibration and/or
configuration certificate shall deliver
with each instrument.

Antamina reserves the right to

expedite and inspect all materials
during fabrication and before shipment.
Unless otherwise noted in the
purchaser order, the Vendor shall
notify to Antamina at least 30 days
before shipment of the instrument so
that arrangements can be made for
final inspection and testing.

If, in the opinion of Antamina

inspection and testing of the
instrument does not indicate good
workmanship, the Vendor shall make
such changes as necessary to rectify
this condition. Antamina will witness
such further tests as it deems
necessary to ensure that the
instrument complies fulfill the
specification. All costs of such
additional test shall be for the account
of the Vendor.

The instrument shall be shipped to the

jobsite completely assembled. If this is

not feasible, Vendor shall so state in

his proposal and shall describe the
extent of assembly proposed; in such
cases, all parts shall be match-marked
to facilitate field assembly.
