allows applicants, who pay an additional fee, to lodge their applications beyond the normal processing hours.

Information for Visitor visa applicants
Applicants are asked to lodge applications requiring medical examinations well in advance of the intended date
of travel. We recommend that all new visa applicants requiring medical examinations undertake the medical
check before lodging their visa applications to avoid delays. To determine whether a medical examination is
required and if relevant, to generate a medical letter to take with you to the panel doctor, please see: My Health

Declarations. In particular, applicants in the following circumstances will require a medical examination:

applicants aged 75 years and over;

any applicants intending visits to Australia of more than 6 months;
applicants intending to visit a hospital in Australia (including visits to see newborn babies).

Please Note: The medical letter you generate via ‘My Health Declarations’ will contain a “HAP ID” number. Please
ensure you include this number at question 37 of the Visitor visa application form (1419) so that the visa office
can track your medical clearance.
