Course Description
This course mainly covers vector algebra, line, surface and volume integrals, gradient and Laplacian of a
scalar, divergence and curl of a vector; Coulomb’s law, electric field, electric flux density, Gauss’s law,
electric potential, electric dipole, energy in electrostatic fields; Biot-Savart’s law, Ampere’s circuital law,
magnetic flux density, magnetic scalar and vector potentials, Maxwell’s equations; forces due to magnetic
fields, Faraday’s law, Time-varying electromagnetic fields, waves in homogeneous and stratified media,
transmission lines, waveguides and cavity resonators, radiation and antennas.
