PoLION: A Paralyzing Threat

A deadly disease in comparison with a disabled body part is

lethal.

Polio is an infectious disease which causes the inability to

move some body parts. There are three forms, non-paralytic,
paralytic, and post-polio syndrome. Non-paralytic doesn’t really
show a paralytic body part, however, it’s actually limiting its
spread in the central nervous system. Paralytic, on the other hand,
has spread throughout its invasion, as a result, a person with
paralytic polio, will lose reflexes, have weak muscles, and
paralysis. Post-polio syndrome occurs suddenly after a recovery
from an attack from poliovirus.

There are clearly no signs or symptoms in polio disease. In

most severe cases, symptoms appear, however it differs according
to the type of polio. Here are some symptoms that occur in rare
cases, these may include upper respiratory tract infection,
gastrointestinal disturbances, and influenza-like illness.

A year ago, thousands of people’s lives were took by that

epidemic disease. Luckily, some people survived despite the
threat they’re in. Some people who survived stated it was a
miracle, some stated it was a curse, they continued living with
this disease and they’re not delighted because they wanted to
succumb due to the pain polio was giving to them.

There are two ways to prevent but once inflicted they might
suffer in a burdensome life thinking they should cease to exist.
Passive immunization, could be used to halt such polio, and
reduce severity of the disease. Vaccine, two types of vaccine are
used throughout the world to combat polio. Both types induce
immunity to polio, efficiently blocking person-to-person
transmission of wild poliovirus, thereby protecting both
individual vaccine recipients and the wider community.
Therefore, these are the solutions to your problems.

There is no cure to polio, nonetheless, there is a way to ease

it. The modern treatment has been providing relief of symptoms,
speeding recovery, and prevention of complications. Antibiotics,
therapies, analgesics, corrective shoes, and braces.

Diosdado “Dodie Boy” Penalosa, a Filipino boxer.

Although winning titles seem overwhelming he suddenly stopped
in 1995. It was revealed he had polio since he was a child. That is
an impressive matter; the fact that he survived such a disease and
even worked on a muscle-related game.

Polio is a looming threat which everyone needs to be very

careful of. In that case, thanks to the vaccines, and passive
immunizations, it stopped and reduced. Polio, indeed is a
paralyzing threat, however have faith and trust that it will be over
as it can end humanity.
