TEACHER 2 When we are sad or we are experiencing grief, we really

get affected. Did you hear that learners?

TEACHER 1 Yes Teacher _________! (EMPHASIZE) It`s really normal

to be affected when we are sad, or when we are

experiencing grief, because we are humans. ( SOFT

VOICE) This is the reason why you really have to listen

well to our discussion for today, it’s about Loss and Grief!

Grief is a natural response to loss. It is the emotional

suffering you feel when something or someone you

love is taken away.I repeat.. ( EMPHASIZE) This feeling of

loss can be very difficult. You may experience all kinds of

hard and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger,

to disbelief, guilt, and deep sadness. The pain of grief can

also affect your physical health, making it difficult to sleep,

eat, or even think straight.

TEACHER 1 That’s right. people die and go. God created us and in the

end we will return to Him. Death affects people in different

ways. Everything in this world has its own end.

TEACHER 2 Well, ( LIVELY) to test your understanding about grief or

Wow it seems you are all correct. It’s really normal to cry

when we are sad, right Teach Anchor?

TEACHER 2 Of course, we are all human beings. Now, listen to

SECONDS AND WILL GO DOWN TO BECOME A MUSIC

TEACHER 1 How about this statement 7, It is important to “be strong”

in the face of loss. (PAUSE) Right! We should be “strong”

in the face of loss.

TEACHER 2 For number 8, Moving on means, you have accepted your

loss. Yes, That is right!

TEACHER 1 How about this statement number 9? Moving on with your

life means forgetting about your loss? It is False, We have

to move on, life continues even if our loved ones are gone,

their memories stay in our mind, they are always in our

heart.

TEACHER 2 Please listen to the last statement, Individuals need

emotional comfort during grief or sorrow. What is your

answer? (PAUSE) Yes, It’s True! We need someone to

comfort us when we are in grief.

TEACHER 1 Wow! It seems that many of you got perfect score!.

TEACHER 2 ( LIVELY) To continue, Let us have trivia guys, do you

know that in 1969, psychiatrist Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

introduced the five stages of grief based on her studies of

the feelings of patients facing deadly illness. These stages

of grief are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and

Acceptance. I repeat, these stages of grief are: Denial,

Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.

TEACHER 1 Denial is the first stage of grief in which we might think life

makes no sense, has no meaning, and is too

overwhelming. For example, if we heard that our friend

died because of an accident, we almost can’t believe

-MORE-
Loss and Grief 8

this, we may ask, “Is it true? Is she/ he really gone? We

cannot accept easily what happened to him/ her.

TEACHER 2 In the common stage of thinking “why me?” and “life’s not

fair!” we might also blame others for the cause of our grief

and also redirect our anger to close friends and family.

This is an example of Anger which is the second stage

of grief. It is a strong feeling of being upset or annoyed

because of something wrong or bad (WITH EMPHASIS)

the feeling that makes someone wants to shout.

TEACHER 1 And if something bad happens, sometimes we find

ourselves making a deal with God. This is what we called

Bargaining, which is the third stage of grief. Again

learners, the third stage of grief is what we called

Bargaining; and this stage is false hope.

TEACHER 2 The fourth one is Depression, it is a common form of grief

wherein most people connect immediately with this stage.

Like for example, you got low scores in all subject

areas during your last examinations. So, you might get

depressed why you got low scores even if you studied the

lessons well. With this, you may feel grief and may get

depressed. You may say it’s not worth to study. You may

think negatively and feel hopeless.

TEACHER 1 Lastly, the Acceptance! In this stage, your emotions may

begin to become stable.

TEACHER 2: You heard it right! Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression

and Acceptance are the stages of grief.

this pandemic will end soon. God is always with us

Loss and Grief 10

TEACHER 1 Today, many people grieve because they lost not only their

jobs but also their loved ones. The World Health

Organization reports daily rate of COVID-19 cases,

some of the infected recovered and some (PAUSE) died.

TEACHER2 Class, ( PAUSE AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH) I know you

are familiar with the word death. Death refers to the end of

the physical being of a person caused by an illness,

aging, or an accident.

TEACHER 1 Loss occurs when someone dies, or a life situation

changes or ends. Grief refers to the emotional suffering

caused by a loss, disaster, or misfortune.

TEACHER 2 Some researchers defined death as a part of one’s life.

Therefore, we must accept it. After the death of a loved

one, grieving follows. Grieving is a normal, natural, and

healthy response to loss .

TEACHER 1 Getting over grief doesn't mean forgetting about a

person who died, but we have to learn how to handle

situation.

TEACHER 2 Learners, it is helpful to grieve because it’s also a way to

release distress. Releasing bad stress from the body through

different actions such as crying may bring us the feeling of

ease and comfort. Grieving may also be considered as a

sign of a person’s capability to heal and move on.

TEACHER 1 Let us always remember that there are people around us

who can help us when we are in grief.

TEACHER 2: (EMPHASIZE ) Loss and grief cause emotional and

physical pain but it also brings us to a deeper

understanding of the true value and meaning of life.

-MORE-
Loss and Grief 11

TEACHER 2 Others grieve for a misfortune such as losing any valuable

material, getting robbed, or failing an examination.

People may also suffer from experiences such as

separation from friends and conflict with others.

TEACHER 1 However,or dear learners, if you are experiencing any of

these emotions following a loss, it may help to know that

your reaction is natural and that you will heal in time.

TEACHER 2 Yes, I agree with you Teacher_______ Also, understand

learners tnot everyone who grieves goes through all these

stages; and that is alright.

TEACHER 1 In the same way, you do not have to go through each

stage in order to heal.

TEACHER 2 In fact, some people resolve their grief without going

through any of these stages.

TEACHER 1 TeachAnchor_______, do you know that while grieving

over a certain loss is just a part of our life, there are ways

to help cope with the pain, come to terms with your grief,

find a way to pick up the pieces and move on with your

life.

MUSIC BED UP AND DOWN OF THE BACKGROUND

TEACHER 2 Yes teachanchor______. what we need to do is

acknowledge our pain and accept that grief can trigger

many different and unexpected emotions. Please

understand that your grieving process be unique .

TEACHER 1 That’s right Teacher ___________ ! People may

experience that in different ways. Just remember learners
once you’re in this grieving situation, seek out help. Seek
out support from people who care about you. Support

grieving, it’s really difficult to approach him or her. When

my friend’s husband died, I let her feel that she`s not

alone, I let her feel that I am always on her side and
