2. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course helps to consolidate student’s basic translation skills learnt previously including
reading comprehension, text analysis and transferring, and composition skills, as well as
translation supporting skills including information searching and computer skills.
The course also provides students with skills for dealing with different types of scientific and
technical documents in areas including Environmental science, Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, ICT, Mechanical Engineering and Materials science. In addition, students are also
provided with background knowledge and basic terminology related to science and technology
subjects such as Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering & Electronics, ICT, Mechanical
Engineering & Materials Science.
