Position: Director/AD – Market & Competitive Intelligence, Corporate Strategy

Location: Bangalore

Corporate Strategy team facilitates the development of long term growth strategy, and high-impact
business and operational decisions. It leverages fact based analyses and consumer insights to shape
strategic focus for Flipkart.

The team works directly with the CEO and the top management of Flipkart. The team collaborates with
leaders across functions to ensure seamless execution of recommended strategic initiatives.

As a leader in the Corporate Strategy team, you will play a pivotal role to

 Develop deep understanding of the consumer Internet market in India


 Help develop long-term strategy for Flipkart with a strong customer- and market-backed
perspective
 Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership and drive the changes
required
 Evaluate new business initiatives and opportunities by bringing together outside-in customer
and market view with inside-out understanding of capabilities and what it takes to win
 Drive implementation of key initiatives for growth, customer experience, operational
effectiveness and service
 Support the fund-raising activities, investor meetings and board reviews
 Partner extensively with external consultants, sellers, brands and customers for deeper grasp of
competition and market

Your role will entail the following:

 Manage and grow the Market Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence charter
 Be the single source of truth on our addressable market and offer deep insight into the Size,
Growth, Share and key metrics at increasing levels of granularity
 Build deep expertise on our key competitors and
 For high priority problem statements, work with Corp Strat leadership and stakeholders to
define the problem scope, identify key hypotheses, define analyses plan and gain agreement on
key deliverables and timelines
 Think beyond immediate problem statements, to create long-term, end-to-end perspective, and
demonstrate ability to proactively identify strategic opportunities
 As the leader of the CI/MI team, autonomously drive and iterate on key analyses to uncover
insights leveraging existing and new information sources
 Bring together insights to develop well-rounded recommendations and help communicate them
effectively
 Manage stakeholder expectations, partner effectively and drive the organisation to action

This role will provide a great seat-at-the-table to learn and influence the development of consumer
internet in India and will act as a launch pad for impact in horizontal and vertical roles over a period of
time

Desired Skills and Competencies

● 4+ year of people management and team building experience


● 4+ years of experience in management consulting/investment banking
● Tier 1 engineering college and management colleges
● Superior analytical skills including strong ability to identify and solve highly ambiguous problems
● Strong understanding of the consumer internet, logistics, payments industries
● Ability to connect with people across teams and levels
● Bias for action - Flipkart works at a very rapid pace
