Task Description:
Objective #58; The Climate Change task team seeks a consultant to support the implementation of the new
WBG 2050 Climate Strategies in the agriculture sector and conduct analysis as part of the sectoral and cross-
sectoral consultation processes. In particular, we seek support for the following tasks #58; 1. Contribute to
the finalization of the consultation note for the agriculture sector. The note will include a summary of the
proposed actions for the 2050 engagement strategy of the agriculture sector. The consultant will
collect/compile any necessary data, analyze and summarize data, and contribute to the report write-up.
Existing draft will be shared by the task teams.2. Revise/update of the agriculture sector note as needed and
support the integration of the sector into the overall final report.3. Contribute to the NDC SF activities to
mainstream aspects of the 2050 Strategy in the NDC Deep Dives work that is focusing on 6 countries around
the world. The assignment is expected to require around 30 work days, during May 6-June 30, 2019.
Payments will be made based on the deliverables outlined in the table below. The STC will report to Ana
Bucher and Neha Mukhi, GCCRA team members. Deliverables Review and finalization of the consultation
note for agriculture sector Support the multisector consultation for the validation of all sectoral findings and
integration into the final report. Sector note update Help in the finalization of the report and support any
outreach activities. Desired skills #58; Master’s Degree in agriculture/climate change/rural development
with at least 2 years of relevant work experience (3 years preferred);Demonstrated expertise in climate
change issues Familiarity with long-term strategies, low carbon growth and climate Co-Benefits;Experience
building partnerships, a collaborative and proactive approach to problem solving;Strong and proven
organizational, research, analytical and quantitative skills;Ability to deliver in a dynamic environment with
multiple demands and quick turnaround of outputs;Results oriented, with an ability to work independently,
devise and produce results in collaboration with departments across the Bank;Proven ability to work in a
team and intercultural environment, with minimal supervision;Excellent oral and written communication
skills in English, a second main Bank language highly desired;Enthusiasm for, and commitment to
development work;
