ANALYSIS

We can find friction in any places and it is unavoidable because it happens all the time in

our daily lives. There’s already a presence of friction in all object that changes it position. Life

won’t be possible if there is no presence of friction that is why friction is really important that we

must fully understand on how friction w0rks. We just need to follow carefully the concepts and

formula to get the value of coefficient of friction. This coefficient of friction is the messure of

h0w aspecific 0bject moves. If in the experiment you got a large amount of coefficient friction it

means that there are alot of frictioon between the object and the surface that is in contact with the

object.

When the friction is in static condition, the static friction is larger to thepoint where an

object is starting to have a motion. But the kinetic friction takes places if the moving object is

having a lower value of resistance. When net force of two surfaces which have friction or have

contact with each other which the direction is perpendicular to the surface. We can say that

frictional force is direcly proportional to the normal force.

In table 1, we are ask to determine the coefficient of friction by adding weights on the

hanger until the block starts to move in the plane. We got the average coefficient of friction of

0.198. In table 2 we must determine the angle of repose by adjusting both horizontal and vertical

height of the track and letting the block to slide. In table 3 we determine the maximum force to

put in a hanger that will make the block go move while in an inclining plane. I think the possible

source of error in this experiment is just human error. You just have to follow the procedure

properly to have an accurate amount of value.

CONCLUSION

The experiment’s objectives is to get the value of coefficient of friction in contact with

the surface until it moves in a unif0rmmotion, getting the angel of repose and determining the

maximum force to placed on a hanger to make a block to move in its uniform motion. Frictional

force is directly proportional to the normal force. But there isa constant that disregards the

definition of normal force which it called the coefficient of friction.

In getting the coefficient of friction we must put the block in a platform to have its

uniform motion. We must balance the weight that we will put to the hanger and to the weight of

the block so that we are able to let the block to move in a uniform motion. The track is placed on

a inclining position with a different set of angles every trials, so that the cart is placed on the top

part of the track will definitely slides down because it is inclined. The motion or acceleration of

the block is based on the value of mass of the block and the hanger. In the experiment we added

a larger amount in the hanger while the block is in a inclined position so that is will accelerate.

We can also say that thee coefficientof friction is equal t0the tangnt of rep0se but the coefficeint

of friction wiil not have a relation between its area of conacct even if it have a smaller or bigger

area of contact its friction will have no effect to other objects. When we add more amount of

mass in the block it increases so the net force must also increase so that it will satisfy the state of

inertia
