I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:

a. identify the different types of conflict ;


b. identify the importance of conflict in a story or in real life situations; and
c. perform a situation showing the different types of conflict.

III. LESSON PRESENTATION
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it
is in heaven. Give us this day our daily and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

2. Classroom Management
Before the learners take their seats, the teacher instructs them to pick up the pieces of paper or trash
they see on the floor.

3. Attendance
The teacher checks the attendance.
4. Review
The teacher asks the learners some questions about their past lesson.
5. Enrichment Activity
Vocabulary/ Unlocking of Difficulties (Before the discussion)
1. Conflict – disagreement between ideas, feelings, etc.
2. Agreement – a situation in which people share the same opinion
3. Denouement – the final part of something

B. MOTIVATION
Lights… Camera… Action…
The teacher instructs the learners to guess whose movie line is presented and the teacher will also ask the
learners to act it in front of the class. The teacher presents the game using a power point presentation.

C. LESSON PROPER
After the motivating activity, the teacher asks the students if they have any idea about the topic
which is the types of conflict.
Conflict is a struggle between two or more forces that creates a tension that must be. There are types of conflict:
Examples
-An arctic adventurer struggles to survive hunger and cold.
-A brother and sister fight over control of the television.
Types of Conflict:
1. Man vs. Self
- The struggle or opposition is within one character--making a tough decision, for example. A character struggling
to overcome fear, addiction, emotional damage or other crippling personal issue.
Example:
-A young man goes through hard times after losing his father in a car accident.

2. Man vs. man


- The struggle is between two or more characters in the story.
Example:
-Two girls compete for the same role in the school play.

3. Man vs. society


- The central character or group of characters battles against traditions, institutions, or laws.
Example:
- A student takes his fight against the school dress code all the way to the Supreme Court.

4. Man vs. nature


- This type of conflict pits a story's main character or characters against a natural force such as a flood, predatory
animal, or disease epidemic.
Example:
-A castaway washes up on an island and must learn to survive with the available resources.

5. Man vs. supernatural


- The central character is challenged by forces that are not of this world.
Example:
A group of teenagers sleep in a haunted house and begin disappearing one by one.

D. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT/S USED: Oral Questioning

1. An Olympic athlete pushes his performance to the limit despite his physical disability.
2. Hamlet was bothered by his father’s ghost.
3. The place was destructed by an earthquake.
4. Vincent and Romualdo compete for the same position.
5. The family fight against the whole community.

E. GENERALIZATION
The learners share their Big Ideas from the topic being discussed.

IV. EVALUATION

Instruction:
Write a short script which shows any type of conflict and perform it in front.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Write a short story using any type of conflict.
